Dangers of fruit juice

Apart from its appearance - especially when cut in half - so far as I am concerned the Kiwi has nothing in its favour

My statins blurb says to avoid grapefruit juice so it's just as well that I don't like it.

Kiwi fruits hurt my salivary glands so I avoid them.

Incidentally I thought you might like to know that kiwis make my sisters ears itch!

DH was told no grapefruit with his current statin (the one before was Ok0 so we switched to Kiwi fruit for breakfast- we stopped juice long ago in favour of fresh fruit at breakfast - less sugar.

Following Mr absent's recovery from a mild stroke, I started writing a spoof murder story with grapefruit as the lethal weapon (all victims having high blood pressure and therefore taking statins). But when I asked his consultant about this idea, he reckoned the quantities of grapefruit required would make it extremely impractical. Shame - I thought I had come up with a unique plan.

I stopped drinking grapefruit juice when I statred taking Statins. I did have trouble stopping them serving me grapefruit juice before my meals when I was in hospital. When I told them I couldn't have it because of the statins I was greeted with blank looks and heavy sighs. They did change it to orange juice though!

Yes. There is a hay fever tablet that you mustn't have grapefruit with.
