Pancreatic Cancer

Does it matter Jess how many people it kills?. This disease is lethal because it is very hard to spot and by the time it is diagnosed it is usually too late. My lovely mum died six weeks after falling ill but the cause was not confirmed until the post mortem.

If we're being picky, Jess, nobody gets prostrate cancer.

Jess the petition does say it's the fifth biggest cancer death.

It is certainly NOT the 5th biggest killer in the UK. If you look at cancer deaths only, then it is the fifth biggest killer, but breast, lung, prostrate and bowel cancers account for .
Out of the top 5 biggest killers only one of these is a group of cancer (lung etc).
It is though one of the most lethal types of cancer should you be unlucky enough to get it. I think the best way to help is to donate to Cancer Research UK.

Have signed up for it, too, but there should also be one for brain cancer, which is another of the Cinderella cancers, that gets very little research money spent on it.

Ana, the government needs to see that you are a UK citizen as it is a government petition, but nobody else gets to see your address. It just gives the number of people who have signed up to it.
I am sure I trust the government a lot less than some people on gransnet, but I sign up to loads of petitions on this website. It's better than signing up to 38 degrees, etc.
It's been going for longer than this government has been in power.

It's not the government I'd be worried about if I shared my name and address on this petition, and others like it.

Do you really think the government don't know exactly who you are and where you live ?

I too object to giving my address, so I typed "Is this necessary?" into that space and it accepted it. But I had to give town and postcode to get through. So that more or less gives my address away.....
This is such a worthwhile cause. A good friend of mine has this cancer and it's heartbreaking. More research is desperately needed.
