Are any other parts of the country gripped by this grim bug? DD's family have been ill for a month - and too weak to get out of bed for at least a week of that time - DD + OH + all the children have been so ill. Subsequent chest infections and antibiotic-taking. One of SIL's family (young woman) is in hospital with pneumonia and his parents have gone on to chest infections. Bug consists of cold/flu-like symptoms initially, high temperatures, vomiting, squits, then proceeding to bronchitis and/or pneumonia. Neighbours here have also been afflicted. Poor DD has not slept for a month as she is trying to look after everyone, whilst feeling awful herself.
I have been keeping well away for fear of OH (who has PD and heart problem) succumbing - but I feel so guilty at not being able to help them.
How do I help my sister to stop feeling like a victim?
