Mild Chicken Curry Indian Style

I never buy curry sauces. I just use Turmeric, mild curry powder, salt, a little sugar, onion and whatever we have in the fridge vegetarian sometimes
Make it to taste add yoghurt if too hot

Great ideas ,but I really don't recommend a tomato based based curry if your husband suffers from urine infections.
And coffee can be highly irritating.
I'm suffering now from a tomato based lunch !

I always have a jar of Patak’s Korma curry paste in the fridge. It keeps much longer than it says on the jar and you can vary the amount you use to suit your taste.

Yes, Korma or Butter Chicken.

Sainsburys actually do really nice ones 2 for £6.50 of both of those, when you are tired.

And they do little pots of saag paneer which is a good option and actually big enough if its someone not with a big appetite £2.50

I use a paste, sauces contain a lot of sugar (not great for UTIs) and you can make it as strong as you like.

In strength terms the Korma is the mildest, Tika Masala is slightly stronger and less creamy.

Tesco own brand used to be the best, but I think they have phased out. Jamie Oliver Tika masala is less sharp. Tried M&S today - nice.

To make any curry less sharp, add a spoonful of yoghourt to the finished pot before serving.

Just use pataks mild curry paste & add a tin of coconut milk to it.
It tastes mild & not sickly.
My GC says I overcook curry, what they mean is I put too much spice in 😂

Turmuric is good for health properties. You could add it to rice to give nice yellow colour.

Mild curry powder & a tin if tomatoes for the sauce

Tip a frozen bag of soffrito in large frying pan with some chopped garlic (opt) on medium heat for abt 10/15mins. Add 1 tbsp mango chutney and abt 2 heaped tbsp korma paste. Stir and cook for abt 5 mins then add chopped up chicken breast/thighs. Cook through till coloured, then add 1 tin coconut milk and simmer for 30 mins.... You can add more or less of each ing as desired....

Jamie Oliver has a mild chicken korma recipe. I made it last week for two different friends on successive days, one with advanced MS and one with dementia. Both seemed happy!

i sometimes have a tin of korma curry - £2 from tesco. it's very mild but tastes good.
i find tesco's tinned meals are tasty and although I feel a bit guilty for not cooking from scratch, i've only me to cater for so i'm really saving time, effort and energy!

Try an egg ,lentil or potato curry for bladder problems .
I also recommend nut curries .
Almond is particularly good .
Boil nuts first before currying them .

Hot curries containing chilli will irritate the bladder .
I also recommend butter chicken , korma and curries made with coconut milk ,but not Sri Lankan ones which are very spicy.
Avoid a sauce which is tomato based - a yoghurt based one would be better .
Mild curry powders are fine .
You could make a raita which will add more yoghurt.
Perhaps a sweet mango chutney would be nice too .

My husband cannot manage spicy curries. I buy Spice Tailor pouches which are really easy to make. The Butter Chicken and the Chicken Korma are lovely and you don't need to put in the chilli if you don't want to. Neither of them use tomatoes in the recipe. You can buy them in most supermarkets, DH buys them in Tescos.

Or a butter chicken - reduce the spices if necessary.

Or one with coconut milk. Mild curry powder is available in supermarkets

Not sure about the connection to UTI’s but if you google baby curry, you will find mild and gentle recipes geared toward weaning babies.
