Hello Diddy1. I see you have been around for a while, hope you are enjoying GN. I am happy being Nan and shan't mind being a Great Nan when the time comes. Not just yet I hope, older GSs only 17!

I am not a GG but have a friend who is, and she is called by her Sons ( babies to young to talk) G Gran, I think its nice, dont know what I would want to be called. I am a Great Aunt which sounds really old, I am just called Auntie.

Hi fellow grandparents. Only just found out about Gransnet. Love it. I'm called gramma, my husband is known by many names (some printable) wink. He is called Danad by our teenage grand daughter, mis-pronounced grandad when young and it has stuck.Younger grandson calls him Dadar, our middle grandson who has ASD calls him Grandad as nicknames are silly..

Hello grandmags, welcome to another 46er . What a lot of grandchildren!. The mind boggles at the thought of Christmases and birthdays. My 6 cost me a fortune! I love them all dearly of course.

Hi, I've just joined the group and am slowly finding my way around the system. Not really a new grandma, we've just received our 14th this week! Sadly we don't see as much of them as we would like as they all live in different parts of the country.
Incidentally, my step-grandchildren named me Grandmags (instead of Granny Margaret) as they already had 2 grandmas but wanted to recognise me in the family, which I thought was lovely. I am also a 46er, celebrating the big 70 last month.
Really looking forward to reading all your 'Bon Mots'.

Hello, this is my first post as well. So my advice for you Heirofthe dog is to casually mention to your son that you've been thinking about what you'd like to be called, and tell him your choice. It doesn't matter if the other grandparent wants to be the same as an add on can always be used to distinguish between you both. Your son can then tell your DinL if you feel uncomfortable about it. Don't feel pressured, it should be your choice.
