I agree with that last sentiment.
My GS2 didn’t get good grades at GCSE and his place at 6th form college was in doubt.
Staff at his school said he should still be given a chance so college gave him a place.
He excelled in A levels , decided to go for an Apprenticeship instead of University and is now in the process of setting up his own business.
He is also considering doing a degree with OU once he feels he can devote the time to it which will certainly be some time in the future.

Never worry too much about top GCSE grades, GrannyGravy13. Yes, they're a good indication which direction to go in, but a couple of years down the line and they become less important to show what you're really made of!

Oh, poor laddie! What a shame - but it's good that he can still carry on in sixth form. I'm surprised that his school didn't suggest appealing on medical grounds though.

Our GC had mixed results, unfortunately he passed out during his first exam.

He was taken to hospital where they discovered he had broken his wrist at lunchtime playing football and he hadn’t realised. It was the pain and delayed shock which caused him to pass out.

He failed that exam, passed all the others, but not with the grades he was predicted.

Still high enough to go to VI form fortunately.
