My aunt had no children of her own, but sometimes had nephews and nieces to stay. One of my cousins went to stay when he was about six and she decided to give him a bath. Everything went well until she tried to wash his hair. He told her she mustn't wash it because his head would bleed. Of course when she asked his mother the answer was "Of course it won't!"

Slightly off piste as it's not verbal...

I saw a 2-3 year old this morning escape her Mum and settle down in front of the Primark window. She had yellow sunglasses which she put on, looked in the window, took them off, looked in the window and giggled away to herself. Over and over again. She sat there for a few minutes before her Mum came to find her.

I don't know if she couldn't see her reflection with the sunglasses on, or what it was that she found so amusing, but she had me in fits watching her.

A little boy was crying in the supermarket queue. His mum explained that he had been at the hairdresser. 'I want my hair back.' He wailed.

My little 'know it all' at her new Nursery School decided to correct her teacher who had said 'r was for rabbit' - whereupon madam told her 'no it isn't!, r is for rat!!"

Darling would you like to cuddle a Rat or Rabbit - you like Rabbits so R is for Rabbits.

My daughter told her seven year to stop saying mum every 2 minutes. He stopped for a while then said "mother Susan"!
