She's having a spinal block and she's been told they can lower the screen if she wants to be first to see her baby! I must say that yes, I do feel incredibly privileged to be present at the birth. I shall be taking the photos so hope I'm not shaking too much

Ash Tree - you lucky lady. I was present for the births of two of my grandchildren and I count them among the best days of my life.

Brave lady (both of you) I opted for general anaesthetics all 4 times [wimp]

Oh yes ga - I'm actually going into theatre with her as her 'birthing partner' !

Well we've been told she's third on the list, so likely to be going into theatre late morning. Hopefully this won't be delayed!

How wonderful AshTree. I was awaiting the arrival of my DS 41 years ago tomorrow. Where have the years gone ? What happy times you have ahead of you.

I remember waiting to hear from my daughter she had an elective section too but we knew it was going to be 2pm then it was delayed slightly and I didn't hear until 4pm. Don't know how I got through the wait! But it was worth it. Good luck and best wishes to all
