schools in Nottingham area

Son and daughter in law are moving to Notts area and trying to decide on schools for 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son.
Is Salterford House, Calverton having problems? Reduced numbers and looks tired. Also head and deputy of Notts Girls High both leaving. Why?

I hear the Eest Bridgford area is popular with families because of the schools, shops, cafes/restaurants etc.

Difficult to advise about schools as a new headteacher can turn a school round very quickly [and a bad one vice versa]. If you're looking at non private George Spencer has always been the one to go to and has never been anything other than excellent.
