Rock around the clock. We went to see 'Blackboard Jungle' expecting dancing in the aisles and general mayhem like it said in the papers but it never kicked off. So disappointed!
Last Train to San Fernando! Can't remember who it was by, but I loved it and played it again and again! Got have been about 1961 just after I started work
Soupy I loved that song - and still do! (The carnival is over) My first record was Elvis of course - It's Now or Never. We used to divide up into Elvis fans and Tommy Steele fans- no contest!! Cliff and The Young Ones a couple of years later was played vwhite too- my poor parents!
Fire! By The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Up until then I had persuaded my parents to buy me mostly Tamla Motown, so they were a bit surprised when I saved up my pocket money for that one.
True - Spaundau Ballet, but my brother played it all the time so it put me off playing it. Although he did take me to see Queen in 1982 so he's very much forgiven. I will always love Freddie.
This is such an old thread that, scrolling back, it gave me a jolt to see Greatnan as a poster. It brought back that terrible time, just over a year ago now.
Janerowena - I too bought Fire! It was totally out of character. But I seem to recall there was something of the rebel coming out just to buy that record.
