Cleaning the greenhouse

My DH always used Jeyes fluid to give our greenhouse a good clean. I hated the smell so stayed well away

We don't need to clean ours this year, because the start of the tornado that crossed northern France in the autumn took out over half the panes of glass and twisted the frame. We need to put up a fence to shield it before we even start on the replacement glass. 😨

All the windows, inside and out were cleaned this morning, with vinegar water. The water was dumped into the spaces between the power washed pavers.

The strings of lights, up all winter for little children winter grotto, have been removed for hanging in the trees for summer.

Very helpful thread for me. I managed to get the garden furniture in but didn’t clean. It was one of mr i’s jobs, another new task for me to learn. I’ll order an eco friendly bomb

Thank you all for your advice and comments; I will certainly be cleaning it this autumn (only had the greenhouse last May) and will definitely use an eco-friendly smoke bomb after the cleaning.

I also clean mine in the Autumn after the tomatoes, cucumbers etc have finished. I wash the glass and staging with greenhouse disinfectant and then put the smoke bomb in.
This way any diseases are eliminated before the tender plants go in for winter.

I clean mine out in the autumn. I completely empty it sweep up and then wash all the glass inside and out with Jeyes fluid diluted in a bucket of water. Leave it for half an hour and then hose off. Many greenhouse smoke bombs contain the insecticide Permethrin, which is also safe enough to use on mosquito nets, clothes, pet collars, and even as a topical cream to treat scabies. However, if you want to go totally green, Garlic Candles are just as effective at cleaning out a greenhouse, and are available from the source you mention.

What is going to be in the greenhouse that you need a smoke bomb to clean it? Sounds a bit drastic.

I've no personal knowledge - how I would love a greenhouse! The only advice I can offer is to read the reviews, it's what I always go by when buying from that site.
