Another identification question

Thalictrum aquilegifoliae..... it just rolls off the tongue....! I really do like that plant and I'm looking for plants to fill borders on 3 sides so that there's as little room for weeds as possible! That one's on the list!

Chewbacca yes, I remember now, the one I had was actually called Thalictrum aquilegifoliae.

I bought as a plant in garden centre. It would be lost at back of border - best in middle or near front.

I’m surprised mine have done well as they’re rather overgrown by other plants, and not fed or pampered.

Leaves are a bit like mini-aquilegia.

They look a little like an acquilegia don't they? Very delicate for the back of a border. Did you grow it from seed or plant?

Here they are with some sweet pea which are doing well this year- just a cheap packet of mixed ones from discount store.

You can get them in various colours.

I started with 1 plant, but now have 3 - I think they seeded themselves. They’re surrounded by other plants, but manage to come up again every year. Nice as a cut flowers mixed in with others.

I think Thalictrum is very pretty and effective in a border, but the one I had didn't seem to like it in my garden.
perhaps I'll have another try.

I think I have a wild sort. The leaves are the same shape, but only has tiny flower, and I pull it up ?

Thanks MiniMoon and J52. Definitely Thalictrum. Will just have to remember now as sometimes asked what it is.

Agree it’s Thalictrum, I’ve got it in the mid border where it lends height, but other plants behind can be seen.

Its probably Thalictrum Rochebruneanum. It's a perennial Japanese shrub.
My DH knows these things, I'm not the gardener here.
