Grass cuttings-where do we put them now?

Our local council has ceased green bin collection for the foreseeable future. If I cut the lawn I envisage bags full of grass piling up and getting smelly. I'm thinking of perhaps letting the grass grow long though it will spoil the look of the garden. What is anyone else doing?

Am not mowing it. It has filled with dandilions and the insects are loving it (and you can eat them, the dandilions not the insects)

Mowed grass lawns are very out of fashion. Meadow or moss lawns are in anyway. If you let it bloom with a variety of wild plants now you also wont have to water it when it gets hot as it self sustains better.

And you'll be down with the kids
