can you identify a flower I saw today please

Wildly guessing here but could it be a Hellebore?
They are sometimes cream with pinky edges.

I got some from the RHS last year for my garden - the Lady series I think it was and I'm now waiting in excitement for their flowers to come out

It would be easier to identify if the description included the leaves. Hellebores seed themselves madly in my garden, mostly beside a fence. I think the birds sit on it and excrete the seeds. I have several different varieties without any effort on my part.

My hellebores have been out for a month now - they are unfortunately in a very sheltered position, so I am unable to see them from the windows, but they are near the washing line, so I get a regular treat then. The crocus are taking their time, but a surprise anemone sprang into bloom yesterday - no idea where that came from - and I suppose it is in the wrong place, but all plants welcome!

There's a brilliant dell full of hellebores at Blickling Hall near us - they're building up a lovely collection there and the double ones are beautiful. We've only got singles which I've always loved but those doubles are so good I'm trying to get hold of some to squeeze in somewhere.

Hi thanks everybody . Looked at the Hellebores but I think my plant is different as it is more bell shaped. I will try and get a picture

I'd go for one of the epimediums.

Thanks ladies . I took a picture and was about to post it when a man repairing a fance close to the plant identified it for me. You were correct it is a Hellebore and now I am off to find one for my garden. I knew I would find an answer on here!
