first year to growing tomatoes and cucumbers

Well done lovely fresh veg. Its our first year with courgettes and spinach not vegteables I used to eat much but I do now but pick them very they are small and tender and have them in raw in salad or very lighlty cooked in a bit of olive oil - pity neither of them freeze too well.

I am growing courgettes and sweet pepers for the first time this year.
Seems to be going well at the moment, can't wait to try them.

I have lots of outdoor tomato plants in pots (cherry tomatoe type) and they have been flowering for a few weeks, but only 2 or 3 fruit have "set". This seems slow to me?
Is it the weather? Lack of insects? Anyone else having the same issue?

If anyone lacks garden space then try tomatoes in hanging baskets. We grow Tumbler every year and get a huge crop of tomatoes every time. We use the plastic hangers with built in reservoirs which are too wet for most plants but ideal for tomatoes. One plant per container is plenty.

Funny weather. That's my considered verdict. By the time i get back from my hols they will probably have died anyway. ho hum

My tomatoes are in the greenhouse, and producing very well....lots of watering....I always shake the flowers to fertilise them....my runner beans though, have had very few flowers until now, they are having a second wind.
Hasn't any one had trouble with tomato blight? I have grown mine inside or Under cover since I lost all my outdoor ones a few years ago.

My cucumbers are short - and prickly.
