I've always mended things; not so much altered things unless it was easy. I still sew and mend and quite enjoy it.

Do you have too many mugs? I've run out of hooks to hang them on. They're cluttering up the worktops now.

henetha I have too many of everything! I do like mugs so buy them often. I’ve got a few Emma Bridgewater ones, but they stain terribly

How do you like your tea?
Me - Thompson’s Punjana or Yorkshire Gold, extra strong, half a spoon of sugar, just a dash of organic semi-skimmed

Any old tea, but not Earl Grey. Dash of semi skimmed milk and no sugar.
How about coffee. Bags, cafetière, instant? Espresso, cappuccino , latte?

Cappuccino if I’m out, cafetière at home. Don’t like the pods, coffee taste reason, not environmental reason.

How accurate is the weather forecast for your area? It said only 12% chance of rain for us-and the 12% hit just as we walked back with the dog. It’s fine again now.

The weather forecast seems quite accurate, and rain is certainly on its way.

A neighbour said that if you could hear the trains in the back garden (we were east of the station) not to put the washing out - it meant that the wind was coming from the west which generally brings rain. Sadly, I eventually moved house so I can't use that anymore.

Do you have a similar method which is local to you?

I use the local weather forecast on the BBC site if I plan to do anything outside (like a photo shoot) and it does seem reasonably accurate.

Have you ever had a flood in/near where you live?

I live in a city with many canals but have never known them flood.

I live on top of a hill, so we won't ever be flooded. The local Asda, about a mile away, gets flooded every year! The council has dug up the road, put down sandbags, put in extra drainage, etc., but it still happens

We live near the sea but have high sand dunes in front of us. Unless there is a tsunami we should be alright.

Have you ever driven through a flood, deep snow or similar?

Yes we drove through a flooded road once. There was no warning and no room to turn round.
DH’s bright idea was that I should get out and wade through to see how deep it was!!!
Fortunately it only came up to my calves. The children thought it was hilarious and would happily have joined me.

Any more flood or snow stories?

In the 1970s we still had the open ended buses - not the routemaster types we had now. They were freezing on a cold snowy morning especially when you sat down on the shiny leather seat in a mini. Nothing like arriving in work with a cold bum!

Have you ever accidently done something on the computer or tablet which causes a lot of work to undo?

Did something this morning which has caused a lot of hassle and thought I was going to have to send for nephew to sort it.

I’m terrible with computers. I’m ‘self taught’ so I don’t know what I’m doing and theses so much that I can’t do.
I’ve used them mainly for writing essays, and I was forever losing stuff.
I’m better than I used to be. I used to be literally scared of computers.

How is your relationship with technology?

I love technology, but there’s always things you don’t know how to do, until you need to do them.
A great thing about technology is that when you can’t do something e.g. convert a pdf, you can Google how to do it.

If you’ve ever bought a new laptop, or replaced a desk top, what do you do with your old one?

Dodgy! Me and technology are in a love/hate relationship. Thank goodness for tech savvy sons otherwise I'd be off line very frequently.

Are you online every day? Are you permanently glued to your phone like a lot of people seem to be today? Do you check out GN every day?

I had a new pc earlier this year and kept the old one "just in case". It's in a drawer totally neglected now. And I've still got my last two phones. What shall I do with all these? Any ideas?

My ´old’ phones are passed on to GC who like a newish phone they only have to pay for data on. I still use my old, old, iPhone 6 for reading or listening to audio books or BBC sounds.

Any other good uses?

Oh and I check out GN everyday, but work keeps me from being glued to my phone.

I prefer my old dumb phone which I use for everyday. All I want to do is to make/get calls and not to text people, take photos etc. I have plenty of cameras for that. I do have a smart phone but its smart enough to stay out of my way!

Does anyone think smart phones are an intrusion into privacy with their constant ability to monitor you?? I do.

Yes I agree. Shut mine in a draw for most of the day if I can.

Do you have lots of technology at home.? DH and me share a computer and an iPad. I have a laptop,

I use my iPhone for most things. I’m a very late adopter. I didn’t have a smart phone until about six years ago.
A lovely lap top that I hardly ever use at all -it was for work and I don’t work anymore.
A Fire tablet that I never use. I thought it was a viable option to a kindle. But it isn’t. So…
A kindle. That I should use much more.
We have a super duper Sky Glass TV (Navy blue! ♥️)
DH’s TV in his bedroom uses a fire stick, which I highly recommend

Which perfumes are your favourites, and why? Can you explain their scent?
I’m on a constant quest for my ‘signature scent’ and it’s not very successful.
I’ve recently bought lots of little samples, including some really spendy ones from Penhaligon’s

I like Opium. Ysatis and Chanel no 5. I like the perfumes with very deep heavy exotic notes like musk and patchouli.

What is the worst and most embarrasing gift you ever recieved as a child?

One of my aunts bought me a toy suitable for a much younger age group. Even my mother remarked on it. Of course I said "thenk you" politely. My gran always made me write a thank you letter for any gift.

I’d say those dry oranges they used to put in my Christmas stocking. I don’t actually remember ever eating any of them.

What is you favourite dessert?
I love a nice lemon tart with a bit of a tang to it, not too sweet.

I do love cheesecake, but my absolute favourite is Eton Mess.
However, I rarely eat any dessert, just yoghurt.

Do you ever get outbreaks of weird spots on your face?

No not since I was a teenager. But I do have outbreaks of weird wrinkles.

What is the best parts of your body ? I have long legs and fingers but rubbish eyes Very short sighted

My most complimented bits over the years have been my hair and t*ts 😊 so I’ll go for them.

If you could change something about your appearance what would it be?

I’d love to know what it is like to be tall(er) as I’m of the petite variety.

I always wanted bigger eyes with longer lashes. My sister had big blue eyes and mine were deep set.

Would you ever consider some kind of cosmetic surgical procedure assuming you could afford it?

I never would unless it was to restore me from some disfigurement or accident. I wont even have botox - seen too many horror stories.
