I go to bed about 10pm and read for 30 minutes or so.

If you hear a strange noise in the night do you get up to investigate?

What time do you go to bed at night, and do you read?
Or use your phone to play games etc?

I wake at 7.50am when my alarm goes off. I heave myself out of bed within 5 minutes or so, longing for a wee and a cup of tea and the 8 o'clock news.

We are very rural and foxes walk through our garden often, but I have never seen or heard a hedgehog.

What time do you wake in the morning.? I wake at 6, but often have been awake during the night

I am a sweet person. I love my deserts.

Have you ever had hedgehogs or urban foxes come into your garden? Did you feed them.

I leave cat food for the foxes but only in winter and they will eat most anything and must learn to shift for themselves. My NDN objected once and said it would attract rats. I leave it out once its dark and its gone next day. I dont think rats would get much chance at it with all the cats around here.

I do, and am often surprised by high temperatures equalling those in the south, but I suppose the wind chill factor plays a part in making us feel colder in the north.

Are you a sweet or savoury person?

The mess, once the leaves have stopped being a gloriously coloured carpet and have turned into brown sludge.

Do you ever look at temperatures elsewhere in Britain on the BBC weather app? It was 12° in Cornwall this morning but my sister in law commented that it was the same temperature in Lancashire.

I dislike very high temperatures too - in my small new build home which is very well insulated against the cold it can get unbearably hot during summer.

What do you dislike most about the autumn?

I used to love black forest gateau but now probably lemon drizzle.

Is there anything about summer you don't like? I am not happy in very high temperatures.

Yes, we have a rookery quite close to the house too, activity is definitely increasing!

What’s your favourite cake? I love a lemon curd sponge or pineapple upside down cake ?

Started already. Planted broad beans which are just showing above the soil, and planted a lot of nerine bulbs.

Have you any birds nesting nearby.? We have a blue tit that always nests in our eves and the rookery across the way is getting busy

I love bluebells and used to gather armfulls of them as a child. I also like daffodils as they look so cheerful.

What will be your first job in the garden or outdoor area - if you have one.

I dont do my own gardening (mobility issues) but will be getting my gardner to do a big tidy up next month, especially trimming the trees and bushes which have got very scruffy.

Yes. I have all my summer clothes together. The winter clothes are all in one half of my wardrobe and summer clothes in the other half.

Which of the spring flowers is your favourite. I love snowdrops.

More so now I am old. I used to be fast and impatient, but I've learned to stay calmer now and try to stay within speed limits as I don't want to draw attention to myself so they won't take my licence away!

Not long now until I will unpack my spring/summer clothes suitcase. Do you swop and sort clothes with the changing of the seasons?

Yes, they are pretty accurate now and like to know if I have a trip pending. Never took any notice when younger…

Are you a patient driver?

Oh yes. All the time. Often something the GDs said.

Are you interested in weather forecasts? One of our Welsh weather ladies always says ‘Sunny spells on offer’. As if we can choose!

No but I have misread things sometimes and misheard things too.

Do you sometimes think of something and find yourself giggling away on your own?

Sunny, but very windy! Almost every pic of us has someone holding onto my veil!
I wouldn’t mind but it was in the middle of summer as well.

Does anyone ever misread something you have written and criticise you for it. I wrote a governor report about our Early Years
mentioning that the children were getting better at subitising and was suddenly part of a discussion of what reception children could subsidise!

The 2020s have been unbelievably difficult with challenges for many of us.

What was the weather like on the day you married? We had a deluge of heavy rain.

I don't make pancakes now I am on my own but I do enjoy them if I am visiting someone.

Do you think the 2020s have been difficult so far with a pandemic and now Putin invading Ukraine?

This is something I often ponder on. I love it here, it would be a wrench to leave, but I do miss living by the sea so probably a detached bungalow on the outskirts of Torquay (my old home town). With a sea view of course.
Then I would travel a lot, staying in lovely hotels.

I bought a lemon this week, thinking it was pancake day. But now I know its next week. Do you make pancakes, and what do you prefer on them?

If you won the lottery (as I am going to do tomorrow ) what property would you buy?

A very mundane ambition is to declutter the house. It’s like the V&A museum, having inherited my late husband’s family furniture, some I like, but some..well ?and an exploding garage.

Do you have a modern kitchen?

I always wanted to visit the Galapogos Islands to see the giant tortoises and other wild life. Alas this is not for me as I am too mobility impaired to travel so far now.

Do you have any (reasoably achievable) ambition which you have not yet achieved but you still hope to do it someday?

I love mango although it isn’t the easiest fruit to prepare.
I like all fruit I think!
