I did join a month-long challenge a while ago, with a nutritionist, to get my eating habits on track, and she also encouraged us, not just to be aware of what we were eating, but also to practise mindfulness, and to be aware of how we were feeling, and to write our feelings down. It did help me to be more aware of my feelings, and why I would choose to do things a certain way. And there was usually a pattern to having good days, or bad days. I'm afraid I didn't continue with the 'mindfulness' approach after the month ended.
