So glad I’d taken my towel with me to the poolside today when the fire alarm went off and we needed to evacuate.

How can a tonic water bottle spring a leak overnight? And how can half a bottle of it be responsible for such big puddles on the table, the kitchen floor and even in the coal cellar?

I'm just very, very grateful that it was the tonic, not the gin.

My new neighbour has invited me in for coffee to celebrate our freedom. He seems very nice; just a bit posh for me.
