With a nod to the nautical and as quick as a wink, he grabbed Jeannie in a half-Nelson and with his free hand reached for a barnacle encrusted rope. After tying her up he would........................

have his wicked way with her and then put her a boat and push her out to sea. Unfortunately for him, and unbeknownst to her, her ancestors were watching and..

out of the cave’s entrance poured a black stream of Australian fruit bats who were her ancestors. Condemned to live out their lives in a dark smelly cave by a curse in revenge for the sinking of ‘The Buxom Wench’ from a witch who was the fisherman’s GreatGrandmother, the bats squeaked and flapped around the fisherman. Waving his arms around his head, he failed to notice the figure creeping towards Jeanie intent on...

as he fell over the edge of the cliff. Suddenly, the figure who had been creeping towards Jeanie seconds earlier, pulled the girl into his arms. It was the undercover, tractor driving detective. He had fallen in love with Jeanie the first time he set eyes on her.....

...and at last, he could make his feelings known. "My dearest," he said passionately, pulling out an enormous diamond ring from his pocket, "my name is Henry Shagsworthy, and when first I saw you wearing that beautiful wedding dress, I was determined to make you my bride, although I have to say blue is more your colour, to be honest. I beg you, do not trifle with my affections - will you be mine?"

Hmm, said Jeanie. Henry, I rather like the enormous diamond ring.... but, your surname?? How about we hop on the tractor, trundle into town and see a solicitor about changing your name by deed poll??

"Whatever you say, my sweet - I've never been keen on Henry. What about Charles or Tarquin?"

Oh, Henry, I'm happy for you to be Henry, but it's your LAST name that's unrepeatable. S...sworthy ??? Ah yes beloved, said Henry, Legal Eagle here we come, and away they went on the tractor....

but Henry started to have second thoughts about changing his family name. Dash it all, he could trace back the Shagsworthy's name back to Tudor times when one of his ancestors was the nuptial advisor to Henry VIII. His surname had been quite a talking point all his life and summed up very neatly his prowess between the sheets. How was he going to dissuade Jeanie that he couldn't be plain Mr. Smith?

"But Jeanie, my love you'll be The Right Honourable Lady Shagsworthy and lesser beings must curtsey to you, and my wonderful country estate has to be seen to be believed. You'll love the castle, it has its own moat ...

...and a newly-refurbished dungeon with luxury en-suite torture chamber so your ancestors the fruit bats can live with us." Jeannie hesitated: after all, this was still technically their first date, and she didn't want to seem too eager. However, the castle sounded extremely tempting, but just as she opened her mouth to accept, there came a loud roaring noise.

A huge wave crashed over the cliff just missing Jeanie, who screwed up her eyes in terror. When she opened them Henry What'shisname had vanished.....

...while Jeannie was soaking wet and spattered with odoriferous seaweed, and a bad-tempered-looking octopus was balanced precariously on the seat of the tractor. "Why can I never keep a man for more than ten minutes?" she muttered, as she grumpily began the long walk back to the village. But as she finally limped past the 'Welcome to Seaville, please drive carefully' sign and into the main street, she gasped...

As, standing before her, with her hands on her hips and twirling her handcuffs was DI Lydia Letts. She looked at poor bedraggled Jeanie scornfully. "What have we here, then?" she demanded in her most menacing manner ...

Jeanie's eye misted over as she looked at the twirling handcuffs and thought longingly of Henry Shagsworthy and the racy ways he would have used handcuffs in his repertoire. Suddenly a pub door nearby was flung open and a motley assortment of boozy hen do revellers poured onto the pavement. Like a gaudy tsunami they swept up DI Lydia Letts and with whoops of delight rushed on down the High Street. Now to escape thought Jeanie.......

She had an idea. Instead of running away, Jeanie ran behind the crowd, down the High Street, eventually turning right towards the beach and the life boat station......

where she saw the handsome lifeguard she had had her eye on for weeks. “Help me,” she gasped and fell into his arms. “ I need to hide, that awful Lydia Letts is chasing me”.
“Don’t worry,” he said “I will take care of everything ,” and he ....

took hold of her hand and they ran off together to his little cottage which overlooked the sea. It was so cosy and just needed a woman's touch to turn it into a proper home. They settled into peaceful domestic bliss but sometimes she thought wistfully of ...

...thought Jeannie, idly swirling the last few bubbles in the lukewarm washing-up water. Life was comfortable now, living with her gorgeous Cornish lifeguard, Logan Trelawney, but she had to confess that cottage living wasn't frightfully exciting. But as she dried her hands on a striped towel hanging beside the back door, suddenly...

A delivery van drew up outside. Mmm, thought Jeanie, what can this be, I've not ordered anything from Amazon......

but Logan had. The picture on the side of the box showed a state of the art metal detector. Logan's cottage was crammed with old books telling the history of Seaville and a few ancient maps were pinned on the walls. As this had once been a haven for smugglers and pirates, Logan was convinced there was still treasure to be found. The metal detector looked like he meant to find it.

Glancing up from the picture on the metal detector box, Jeannie's eyes fixed on one of Logan's old maps, which she now noticed had a small X drawn in green ink, down near the shore, at a place marked 'Silverdrake Creek.' Leaving the box on the kitchen table, she ran upstairs and shook Logan's shoulder, saying eagerly, "Wake up!" But when they both got downstairs, dressed in thick sweaters, jeans and walking boots, Jeannie was horrified to find the back door was standing wide open, and the metal detector and map had completely disappeared.

And in its place, all along the floor was a mysterious and very worrying stain. It looked like a long trail of dried up blood. What was worse, long scratches made by an unearthly creature as it ...
