Hello Sandye
Have ever heard of Panela. It is an unrefined brown sugar produced and consumed widely in Central and South America.
It is actually produced in blocks but you can buy it in a crystallized form in 500g bags in large supermarkets lin Spain like the Mercadona.
It is only about £1.20 for a bag and is really nice in coffee. Much dearer in the UK.
It has a much nice flavour than any UK brown sugar including Muscavado.
It is also commonly used for baking, biscuits.cakes etc.
Google it. Or try and get someone to bring you some from Spain.
Enjoy
