Getting really fed up buying porridge that is so so sweet so I was looking for an alternative and these popped up 😲😲

I think the point has been made that
1) porridge need not contain sugar
2) "instant" microwaveable sachets do exist and
3) are readily available in Tesco, Co-ops, and all supermarkets in N Devon and elsewhere at reasonable cost
So the apparent dilemma does not in fact exist

I don't bother cooking oats. I pour boiling water over them and leave them to soak and cool for about 10 mins. I top them off with nuts/fruit/yoghurt etc. sometimes I do it the night before but only if I know I'll be pushed for time in the morning.

Shinamae your explanation of needing the sachets for a quick work break seems to be falling on deaf ears. I’m exasperated on your behalf. If I were you I’d save your breath for cooling your porridge 😆

😂😂 great idea thank you 🦋

Shinamea perhaps wheat biscuits would’ve been a better idea 🙂
Just don’t do what I did once, took a tub of frozen soup to work for microwaving at lunch time - it was chicken stock..🤮

oh no, I’ve never had a Weetabix in my life just don’t like the look of them..
I wonder if that will start another debate 😂😂

Thanks so much for pointing that out 😵‍💫

I just buy shops own brand porridge oats no sugar in those. If you by ready to use oat pots or sachets they have sugar in those.

I use oat milk unsweetened to cook my porridge . 50g oats 250ml oat milk cooked in microwave. Put it on 3 mins first then another minute until cooked. Used to use coconut milk but my GP told me to stop using it. The oat milk gives a nice texture and no need for sweetening .

If I use skimmed milk have to use 15g of honey.
