Be-Ro recipe - fruit scone round?

Do you mean the Victoria Scones one Sn0wy?

You divide the mixture into four, roll into rounds, cut them almost into quarters and put a cherry in each quarter?

These are Be-Ro fruit scones.one slightly newer. I can’t see a recipe for a round though.

I've never seen a recipe for a fruit scone round recipe. Are you based in UK? Possibly there might be differences depending on where you live

Hello Calendargirl and Mollygo, thank you so much for your replies. They look lovely recipes but the one I am looking for is one large round scone with fruit in it (I remember the photo - it's scored into triangle sections). Hello and yes Grandmabatty I'm based in the UK.

Don't you just make a fruit scone recipe and bake it as a whole 'round' rather than cut out individual ones?

I have 2 different copies of the Be-Ro book from the 70s- one I had given my mum, and that has come back to me. No recipe for a round though- just rich scones and plain.

I've just looked in my ( very ) old Be-ro book , which dates from 1979!

The recipe for Victoria Scones is just as Calendargirl describes, and the picture shows 3 rounds of scones. Each one is a circle, scored into 4 quarters, so each 'piece' is shaped like a triangle, with a cherry on top.

I think this might be what you are looking for.

Just to add - the only scones in my book which have fruit in, are the 'rich scones' and the 'rock buns', both of which are cut out individually, not in a round.

Thank you all. Yes, I'm sure it is just a simple recipe that you bake as one large scone; I was just hoping to find the exact recipe from the book. It definitely didn't have cherries on (I do have that recipe in the version I own). I may have to wait until I next visit my Mum and see if I can find the book!

It would be interesting (to me, anyway ? ) to see the difference between the two recipes. I could quite fancy a scone now. With some jam and cream. ?

Aww, I was just going to look through my Mum’s old Be-ro cookbook. I think she was given it when she went to her secondary school so dates from the 30s! But glad you found your recipe. Hope it turned out well.
