What’s everyone having for dinner, continued

Tonight we had the half duck that comes in a pack with rice pancakes and hoisin sauce. Roasted to crispy, served with batons of cucumber and spring onions, delish.
Must buy it more often.

Chicken and mango salad with French fries.

Mushroom omelette, large mixed salad, lemon and coriander couscous. Strawberries and Greek yoghurt, drizzle of honey.

Frikadella made with turkey meatballs and a mustard sauce, served with mashed spud and green beans. Comfort food for a chilly evening.

Because I had a craving the other day, Cyprus style pork kebabs in pitta bread, with salad inc. lots of parsley.
Would be nice if it’s not raining later, so could barbecue, but if not I’ll do them under the grill. Will marinate in oil and lemon juice first.

Stew and dumplings, haven’t had them for ages, but it’s quite cold today, and I feel like something comforting .

Pork chops, barley and - yes- nettles! Par boiled and tossed in butter, salt and pepper. Full of goodness, vitamins, mineral salts, organic and free.

A vegan sort-of shepherd’s pie, bit of an experiment and made in a rush to take to dd’s later. Onions, celery, red lentils, veggie stock, mushrooms, tomato purée, a little pearl barley, a tin of kidney beans, a tin of baked beans. Plenty of mash and a bit of vegan ‘cheese’ on top.

Such a headache knowing what to take nowadays - pre vegan (well, veggan since they will eat FR eggs inc. from their hens) they were utterly unfussy, except for the invariably picky Gdcs, the 2 elder anyway.
I’m taking a load of potato wedges and a tin of beans for Gdcs, and at least they will eat broccoli.

Home made kebab, pitta, salad. First time I tried to make it, left the processor blade cover on, with plastic bits blended into the meat, into the bin it went, ?

The rest of yesterday’s potato and onion pie, there will still be enough for lunch tomorrow - think the recipe needs adjusting.

Home made oxtail slow cooked in red wine and veg Greek yoghurt with stewed rhubarb from my garden.

Lunch tongue and roast peppers. Delicious.

Fish finger bhurta.

Well, it was going to be chicken and veg stir fry, but then Mr J said he fancied fish and chips and he’d go and get it.....

Neither of us particularly hungry so a salmon and cucumber sandwich with a salad garnish. Sometimes it’s just enough.

Left over salad. Left over roast chicken. Some old yoghurt that needs using up. Probably some over ripe blue cheese and an apple.

Too lazy to go shopping this afternoon. I'll regret it tomorrow when I don't have time to get out to shop and am reduced to eating school food or pasta.

I have been eating so carefully lately to avoid annoying my hiatal hernia and acid reflux (and get rid of my lockdown belly ?) .

This afternoon the weather has turned cold and grey, we’ve bagged up a load of garden rubbish ready for the tip and we’re tired. So Mr. B has just tempted me with sausage, beans and chips, the devil!

Stuffed aubergine, baked, garlic new potatoes, kale.
