I LOVE gooseberries. We bought a pound of them from a roadside stall when we were out in the Kent countryside on Thursday. Haven't yet decided how to cook them!
But tonight I'm making chicken liver stroganoff. It's cheap, nutritious and healthy - hardly any waste and no fat.
Tomorrow, DH is doing roast lamb - he does roasts far better than I do. He likes doing things that are simple and take precision timing, whereas I do casseroles, bakes, salads, quiches, puds and pies.
I wish we could grow gooseberries. We have an apology for a gooseberry bush, but it's not produced fruit for years
In contrast we have loads of blackcurrants and we eat them just as they come. Delicious!
