Favourite breakfast

Breakast tomorrow will consist of the first ever homemade bread. Soft boiled eggs with home made bread Yahoo Its having its first rest at the moment then we'll see how well it rises. I do hope after a bit of practice it will be delicious and become a regular delight. It is so good to see how many different breakfasts we all enjoy.

Nobody said what time it had to be! I try to have a cuppa in bed & then once paper is read , I am showered and dressed....then breakfast. On working days nothing!

I can't face food at 'breakfast time' either, but will have it later, and evening meal about 7 o'clock. It works for me, too!

Low fat yoghurt with fresh or stewed fruit and oat bran flakes. And a small bucket of tea.

Breakfast for me is a large mug of almost black coffee and two cigarettes. I really cannot face food first thing. I do however love all the food considered to be breakfasty things so I eat them for Brunch (between 12.00 and 13.00) with a two course evening meal around 19.00. Seems to work for me.

Sliced banana on thickly buttered toast was part of our childhood, being one of my Dad's specialities and I still love it. My updated version is a whole banana in a wrap, either buttered or spread with HM plum jam.

my fave breakfast is any that I have , sitting outside in sunshine and looking at a beautiful view!

Reality is a bowl of home made museli mix with yog/milk, fresh fruit and a cuppa!

Fat free yogurt, usually TOTAL 0% and a mix of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.

Bran flakes or shreddies with soya milk, black coffee.

A little off thread perhaps but a friend recently told me that her GP had advised soya milk to help reduce hot flushes. I have drunk soya milk for years and have experienced no flushes - only occasionally feeling a little warm. Coincidence?

distaffgran - I recommend Linzi's Granola from Tesco - expensive but I think it's one of the best.

I love fried tomatoes – with bacon or on toast. Many years ago, after several weeks in hospital when I was unable to eat, I was told that I could order breakfast. With great delight, I ticked the boxes for bacon, tomatoes and toast – and dreamed about eating this all night. In the morning, the tray arrived – a small rasher of extremely fatty bacon, a triangle of burnt toast and one canned tomato. Probably the most disappointing meal of my life.

Happy to have whatever husband makes! But my all time favourite is scrambled eggs with salmon with (not on) brown toast - preferably overlooking a wild beach in Ireland (where I was first introduced to this delight).

A tablespoon of:
Bran Flakes
Wheat germ
All-Bran
Jordan's Nut Crunch
served with semi-skimmed milk.
Mug of tea.

Sliced fresh apricot and nectarine, large spoonful of Dorset Cereal and a large blob of apricot or plain yoghurt is what I'm on at the moment but in winter it's porridge with a spoonful of manuka honey - none of that salt nonsense which all my friends go for. I do occasionally like a couple of Weetabix which was my childhood breakfast and at Christmas and on high days and holidays it's smoked salmon with scrambled eggs; I really can't face a sausage in the early morning

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on bagels. Free range eggs from the local farmer best smoked salmon I can afford at the time. Best on Christmas day -Morrison's scraps at week-ends.

After that Eggs benedict - poached eggs on muffins/crumpets with a slice of ham - if you don't want to make Hollandaise sauce it works well with warm low fat creme fraiche with a dash of white wine vinegar with a sprinkling of paprika

Yogurt/Yoghurt - the great debate!

I just stick with the smoked salmon if I have eggs it has to be the whites only!

I'm a cereal fan, though occasionally I have toast. It is only while away on holidays do I have the full english breakfast.

You can have smoked salmon and eggs etc on Cunard!

Buttered toast spread with marmalade ,sliced bananas on top.Iprefer to keep texture of bananas.
Never imagined so many variations on this combination.Also have it other times if I've run out of cake.

My breakfast of choice would be smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.... but I usually have 2 weetabix with a sliced banana and any other soft fruit I have, occasionally I will have yoghurt and fruit if I want a sandwich at lunch time.

6 cream crackers for me, plenty of butter, or in my case, low fat spread. On holiday in our caravan I have corn flakes, sugar, no milk, hate the stuff, followed by 2 slices of bread and jam. BUT, on the very rare occasion that we`re on holiday where someone else is cooking, I love bacon, egg, sausage and tomatoes, with toast and coffee, but that`s an extremely rare occurrence.

Haven't eaten it for years. And no, DD is not allergic to nuts.

Early in my DD3 pregnancy I ate thick buttered toast (homemade wholemeal) with a layer of peanut butter and then a layer of mashed banana. It was the only thing that made the blergh feeling go away.

Someone late told me it's even better with Philadelphia cheese as well!

I just put sliced banana on buttered brown toast. I don't like sweet things.
