Too old for it?

My almost 24 yr old gd loves lego and when she’s home , enjoys lego sessions with her dad (almost 50) and his 13yr old foster son. They have some amazing completed pieces and are running out of space for them.

DGD is a Mental Health Nurse and this is a lovely, relaxing and therapeutic hobby. She also likes to spend time helping with her patients constructing lego sets.(when there’s time at this very busy hospital).

You’re never too old for Lego. My GS (19) still likes a Lego set for Christmas (space is getting to be a problem!), as does one of my step-grandsons who is now in his thirties! My DS hated Meccano or anything he had to build from scratch and we never got round to Lego with him.

When I was a child, I was given a Bayko set. It was a building system that involved metal rods of various sizes and plastic bricks you slotted between them. I loved it but all those metal rods wouldn’t sit well with health and safety these days.

I was lucky, a girl, but only child, I had dolls, but also had Meccano, Lego and toy cars! I loved Lego but was a bit useless at construction so lots of help from DF.

Anyone remember Bilofix- made by Lego, probably before Lego itself - the wooden construction system

My brothers had Meccano.
Also a Hornby clockwork train set which I liked.

My mother gave them to my cousin because he was a boy.

I had Meccano and Minibrix (the Minibrix may still be somewhere in the garage. Bought the children Lego and Brio, and now the grandchildren play with them.

I resented the fact that I wasn't given construction toys as a child. My 5 year old grandson is Lego mad but my DD has been given some of the beautiful Lego flowers and when she left Dubai to return to the UK her colleagues bought her the Dubai architecture set.
When I finish decluttering and finally downsize I think I may treat myself to my first Lego kit! I think it could be addictive!

Never ever too old! And what’s more if you reach the fine old age of 100, you can do whatever you damn well like! (Or can manage)

Lego have just produced some wonderful flower sets - the perfect 100th birthday pressie

My son(27) says he will NEVER be too old for Lego...he's an avid collector.

We'll have to be quick, it's his birthday on Friday.

We could just send him a Gransnet birthday card!

Never! My husband designed our garden using our grandsons Lego sets

Yes, I enjoyed watching it, really interesting wasn’t it? I liked all the anecdotes of what befell them during filming years ago.

Someone was quick to photograph that.
I have a few years left then. I love Lego as much as my GC.
