Without the Beckham brand, that boy would be nothing. His wife has the upper hand and probably feels threatened by V&D and what they've achieved. Whatever they've done to upset her, he obviously feels he has no choice but to support her intense dislike of them. He's weak and spineless. His wife obviously relishes the power and wants to continue to affect their relationship. It all smacks of coercion and is a form of abuse but no one can tell him to challenge this behaviour because his wife is deadly stunning and will continue to get away with forcing him to turn his back on his family.

Estrangement for celebrities
(256 Posts)I have no opinion on the Beckhams but feel for their estrangement from their son. The wedding today of Gordon ramsey’s daughter is another one. The grooms mother was not invited to the wedding. She said’i feel as though they have ripped my heart out’. I know how she feels
Agreed. It's just added more fuel to the fire, more hurt and upset for what? Especially on his daughter's wedding day.
These are adults of 60+ years of age acting like this.
If he meant that he and his wife had gained a son then why didn't he say so? Mrs. Ramsey may be a good m.i.l. to AP but she's not his mother.
It's very early days for his parents and I hope that although you never 'get over' being estranged, they'll eventually be able to do what many of us have done and re build their lives knowing that how ever much you love the child who estranges you, there comes a time when you realise that your life is more peaceful without them.
That now makes sense about the cape, from what has been pictured the dress looks like a pair of my nans net curtains.
Do you know them personally?*
Are you ok?
It's been all over the papers and social media for months. His aunt posted a rather long comment on Holly's public Instagram airing their dirty laundry.
The brother was arrested for making threats towards adam and his mom has been at the papers every 5 minutes and has been slating her daughter now for being bridesmaid.
I'm not sure what they thought would happen making everything so public with social media posts and news paper articles.
Then again, Gordon Ramseys speech which has been picked up by the papers was plain nasty.
It's a horrible situation for everyone involved.

Trying to catch up here, though I've only just realised Peaty didn't marry the Ramsay daughter from Strictly, but a sister to whom he was introduced at the time.
Did Gordon just mean that he and his wife had gained a son? I've often heard that said at weddings as a way of accepting the new member into the family.
Adam has added the Ramsey name to his insta account.

Yes MayBee. Great way to repay your parents Peaty for all the time and money they put into you in the early years of your swimming career. Without that help your medals more than likely would never have materialised.
Ungrateful wretch. Here I am agreeing with you again FGT2!
G Ramsey and young Peaty have both come from modest backgrounds but it seems that while money can buy the "right" clothes, cars, houses etc, it certainly doesn't buy class.
😁
Well, Holly apparently didn't want her future MIL at her hen do because of her 'working class background'.
The Ramsay-Peatys: The show is due to hit Netflix in February, so fans will have to see then how much of the fallout is set to make it to screens.

Spot on Mollynew.
Tacky.
I think that should be Charlton - Bobby and Jackie, the footballers.
Who were the Charleton brothers ?

Gordon's speech that his wife would be a good mother to both D and s.i.l. was very cruel in the circumstances and he may find a s.i.l. who treats his own parents so badly, might not be a good thing.
I agree SmilelessI agree too.
Adam's ex and mother of his son allegedly gets on well with Adam's mother.
She tries to stay away from publicity, very sensible for her and also the child's sake.

Thank you for the info, PoppyBlue.
If that was the way it was, I have less sympathy for Adam Peaty’s mum. I still don’t think uninviting her was justified, though. They could have just called her bluff about not coming if the brother wasn’t invited, then if she didn’t come she didn’t come.

So sometimes it is the mother of sons are the problem
Yes! And sometimes the father of the son is the problem. And sometimes the Adult Child is the problem. And sometimes the ACs spouse (DiL/SiL) is the problem. And sometimes thecircumstances are the problem and so on. In other words every Estrangement has a different dynamic with different personalities/behaviours etc etc.
No assumption can be made about the overall causes of the Beckham or Peaty estrangements and as reports in the press vary according to which paper is reporting that isn't reliable either.
Let's hope they all manage to sort it all out but as so much is being conducted by Social Media then who knows!?
PoppyBlue
I only know all that because of the stories she's sold to the papers. Like I also said, the Ramsey's aren't much better.
The interviews with Caroline Peaty made a point of highlighting that she was not paid for the interviews so she didnt sell the story.
Sadly her decision to have her viewpoint published (I suppose possibly because her son isn't communicating with her and she feels a bit desperate) was misguided I think as it is hardly likely to break down the barriers.
I’m glad I had two girls I wouldn’t particularly want a boy due to having to have a daughter in law, as most women are closer to their mum and therefore maternal grandmother usually sees more of the children.
My late mother in law wasn’t a very nice person and I could never do anything right in her eyes for her son, she had five children but never thought any of their partners good enough
So sometimes it is the mother of sons are the problem, I think it’s far easier being mother in law to a man rather than a woman

Celebrities are people, and as such will suffer the same problems the wider population might experience. There are however two types of the famous. Those who live relatively private lives and those who put every aspect of both theirs and their children's lives from the moment they're born into the public domain.
Enter the Beckhams, the ultimate exponents of that. When have they ever given their offspring any privacy whatsoever? Every move, every perceived mistake magnified and commented on. Maybe, they are experiencing something of a backlash with Brooklyn obviously trying to exticate himself from the pre ordained branded life he was born into and yet they keep it going, every slight played out to be picked over. Allegedly, his wife has some beef with D&V and is awaiting for an apology. So naturally that's responded to with the esteemed pair recording themselves dancing to the song "Guilty" highlighting the words "we've nothing to be guilty for". Does it never occur to these two, they are the architects of their own misery? Why are they making this painful episode so public? How is the continual referencing to the spat from the entire Beckham clan so publically going to encourage their son to reconcile, more likely he will dig his heels in deeper now. The Beckenhams alone have elevated the lack of privacy surrounding the family to a whole new level as if it's something to be admired.
Top post. Hear,hear.
Whatever happened to discretion and privacy?
Priceless but for sale by celebs
etc.
The times we live in?
I hope that continues for the Beckham's too Freshair.
The Ramsey's and Peaty do seem to be as bad as each other PoppyBlue. Gordon's speech that his wife would be a good mother to both D and s.i.l. was very cruel in the circumstances and he may find a s.i.l. who treats his own parents so badly, might not be a good thing.
You could be right ReadyMeals.
It is as you say Babamaman so painful
.
Who are The Charleton Brothers?
Caroline (Peaty), who spent years travelling to swimming competitions, was absent from Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse. Guests included Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham. However, sources have claimed that Holly felt Caroline didn't match the image she wanted for her event due to her working-class background.
On second thoughts, I withdraw my previous comment about Holly needing good luck.

A breast feeding grandmother that’s interesting, now I m wondering are you a very young grandmother or an older mum, good luck either way
( or maybe neither just being lighthearted don’t hang draw and quarter me )
I'm sure Poppyblue isn't the first breastfeeding grandmother and won't be the last 😁
I'm surprised at Gordon Ramsay. From what I know (which is not a lot, I grant you) his private persona is much nicer and kinder than his public one.
Best of luck, Holly, you're going to need it.
