No, me neither. But then I never read instruction manuals either. Like Anno it's sort of trial and error, or asking 'how did you do that?''. My favourite button is the 'undo' one.

No I don't think so. Many people on here have worked with computers since the early 1970s or before and might feel a bit patronised by that approach.

AIBU to feel somewhat patronised? We are not sweet little silver haired old ladies sitting around downloading crochet patterns off the internet or asking our grandchildren how to use a mobile!! As Mamie says, most of us have been using computers, not to mention IT/ desktop publishing/electronic whiteboards/powerpoint etc throughout our professional lives - and many still are!

Right on, gracesmum! I am very IT competent, and would have been in my youth had technology been as advanced as it is today! And Lilygran has socked it to them as well.

I had to be computer competent when I was working and I retired 10 years ago.

Funny how many people see us as a nice, placid, available group of old fogies ready to help with their research for nothing!
