Slimming World on line

Where in Cyprus? I used to live in LImassol many, many years ago.

margrete, we have a house near Kakopetria, up in the Troodos mountains where in theory it is cooler but temperatures have been hitting the mid thirties and it is only May. We have this house on the market and hoping to move back to Wales in the near future. Hence my joining Slimming World on line, as there is no group nearer than an hour away.

Been there, but many years ago. It's beautiful.

On Facebook there are lots of Slimming World Groups, offering help, advice, recipes, syns.

Just go onto search for groups and go into food then type in Slimming World. Hope this helps.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I had never thought of Facebook, being very new to the thing, now I am with at Slimming World at home group. Only 2 more stone to go

When we were on holiday in cyprus a few years ago i noticed quite a few slimming world groups.

silverlining48, there are 26 here, however all but two are in Greek, and I am sorry my Greek is not up to that standard and the nearest one English speaking one is over an hour and a half away, so not an option

How are you finding Slimming World? Has it changed your relationship with food? Is it something you feel you can sustain for the long term or do you think you will be constantly revisiting them in the future? I lost nearly 11 stone and am now a Personal Trainer at the age of 52. I don't diet anymore and am so pleased to be free of that yo-yo dieting cycle.

I started SW at end of August, not on-line, I go to the groups to get weighed, I don't stay for the talk too often though but it's a psychological thing with me going to be weighed rather than just doing it at home. I rather like their way of eating also got a few of the cook books, rather like their recipes. I must say though, it might say eat as much free food as you like till you feel satisfied and still lose does not ring right with me....SW doesn't know my appetite ?

I want to loose about 2 stone so going to follow sw. It would be nice if there was a sw forum for sw for over 60s! Not sure I want to go to group, I hate all that sitting around and going through the weight losses and gains. Lol

Oh yes hudo , I just go and get weighed....usually buy the magazine and any new cook book and go, for me it's a waste of time sitting for over an hour yet my daughter goes and likes staying for that lol.....all different

I do not do SW, I lost the weight I wanted to lose on the 5:2 diet, but I do buy the magazine. The recipes are excellent as, although they do not give calorie values, by definition, they are lower calorie than many similar recipes elsewhere.

I joined SW last April and had lost 2st by October. I found it so easy to do and rarely felt deprived, in fact it didn't feel like dieting at all, and believe me I've been on every diet there ever was, or at least it felt like it! I actually thought I was eating healthily which I obviously wasn't, as I weighed in at 11 stone which for my height 5ft 4ins is too much. The only problem I have at the moment is I am at target and still losing weight. I stick to the maintenance plan through the week and have a few treats a the weekend. Has anyone else found this? By the way Hudo58 I am 67!
