Just seen your article today on tai chi - thought that if any readers in Somerset are interested Age Uk does run some of these classes - where you're guaranteed to be with over 50's. They welcome new participants all the time so if you are interested in seeing if there is class near you please phone 01823 345626

In Newton Abbot, Devon, there are two classes of tai chi
on Friday mornings. One is as usual, the other is a sitting down class for those less fit. I've just started going to that one with my Alzheimers friend. It's a bit too gentle for my liking, but she seems to get some benefit from it. It certainly is very peaceful and has a calming effect.

In the Midlands. For a start it gets me out of bed and out of the house. My balance had improved and it is a friendly group.

Every Monday afternoon, in the village hall, DH and I stroll down, do an hours Tai Chi then wander home and have a cup of tea.
