Hope you have all had a good weekend, can we add to our totals again this week!
The clock is ticking away and Christmas is getting ever closer are you going to get into that little black dress or not?

Dieting & exercise
Monday 22nd October weigh in.
(42 Posts)I might get into my big black dress Glass. Will weigh myself on Wednesday. I'm afraid I found a stash of Maltesers yesterday, and finally threw the remaining ones out this morning, making sure they wouldn't jump back out by tipping tea leaves on their little heads.
13 5 1/2
Well done jeni I only added your first post last week thinking that it was your bug but as you are that weight today I will have that 1 1/2lb for the pot
hope you are feeling better, the GC have had a bug over the last few days it just knocks you for six.
This weeks total 1.5lbs
Challenge total 27.9lbs
grannyeggs you were very restrained to have any little bald heads left this morning
Would love to join you. Wanting to lose at least half a stone. Weighed myself this morning and am 10st 6 1/2
Oh to be 10st 6 1/2 pud! - that is more or less my target so I am seriously
I am 5'6" so I imagine you are 'less tall' to want to lose and get to around 10st.
Welcome to the club - we're a great bunch of losers! Glass keeps us on track and encourages us when things don't go as well as we wish.
Sorry Glass I am even-stevens this week so can't contribute to the pot. Am disappointed as I had a good loss last week but at least I have kept that off and not gained so I am happy really!
Good luck everyone else
I am only 5ft 2 1/2 Sbagran so getting under 10st is a must even my blood pressure says so!!!
Weighed myself this morning and, horrors, back to 13 stone 11 lbs, a pound on. Can only put it down to making English muffins (Yummy) and ginger fairings, and blame it all on "Bake Off" for inspiring me.
Starving myself today (one of my "hungry" days) and hope to do better this week. It's disappointing when the weight goes back on - and so easily!
Give us a go pud and you will achieve with all the wonderful support we all get on this thread. The last half stone or so is always the hardest but I know what you mean about the blood pressure telling you so!
A lot of us all use 'My Fitness Pal' to keep us focussed - I have found it really useful.
for dahlia (could actually be dahlias!) - how frustrating for you! Keep at it though - tomorrow is another day and we will ALL get there so don't give up! Why does weight go on so easily yet is so hard to take off
?
Grannyeggs I just love Maltesers and there would not have been any left if I had them! Just can't have temptation in the house or I will find some excuse to eat whatever it is!
Well done Jeni and SBA, after a big loss last week you have done well not to put any of it back on.
Hi Pud and welcome but I think you are misnamed as you cannot be very big at that height and weight. I am the same height as you but don't have the BP incentive as mine is low.
Glass you can add a pound for me too please! I think it must be because I am eating different food to at home and my body is processing it differently. Does a carrot muffin count as healthy? I had one at breakfast this morning! Perhaps it is the mint in the cocktails and I will have discovered a new wonder diet!!!!
Still no promises for the next couple of weeks, there is so much temptation here!
Regards to all from the sun
Pud I am the same height as you and weigh 11 stone, I lost a stone and a half between January and May, and have put the half stone back on, so I too want to get to just under ten stone. It is hard but this thread is a help as long as I post every week.
One pound up this week! Sorry nothing. to add to the pot - I have been good today and just had portion size on the diet sheet - do you think that when you do not have something for a while- thinking here of chocolate- that you crave it more and go mad for it? We have not had any chocolate for weeks and been fine and the at the weekend we were so carving it we bought mars bars AND Twix - but only ate one mars and feel OK about it now.
Have down loaded my fitness pall but can't find instructions on how to use it!!! Perhaps it is a bit obvious that I am not very computer literate!
On the verge of the big breakthrough - it took me 3 years to get there- well nearly - losing 17 kg, so a bit more than 2 and half stone. This is so funny, because I weigh myself in kilos - but in stones and pounds- this would not be a milestone at all, just a weird number. Just shows ...
I am 5 7"
Hi pud its lovely to see new faces, good luck.
sba it will show next week again dont panic.
dehlia just try not to bake this week
fatal baking and not sampling the goods.
Well done move carrots are very healthy.
bez chocolate ohhh once you start you cant stop, do you like dark chocolate? If you do keep a bar of very good dark chocolate 70 or 80% cocoa in the fridge and just have a square (any more than a square is too much so you are not tempted to finish the lot) and it does take the craving away, beetroot does the same it stops the chocolate craving.
granjura well done that is a fantastic amount to loose. My DH does the same with measurements he jumps between imperial and metric total confuses me. I would say use the system which makes your loss sound greater
jeni I thought you were taller than that, but it was maybe as I am short
a * * *
This weeks total .5lbs
Challenge total 26.9lbs
Thanks glassortwo, much appreciated.
Beware the carrots. They are VERY healthy in normal amounts but can poison you if too many eaten instead of a variety of foods. One of my neighbours in the UK became totally obsessed about losing weight and was eating carrots for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I noticed her hands were becoming orange, then her face and whole body. Turned out she had BetaCarrotAneamia - too much Vitamin A being toxic. It can be dangerous, and she is not allowed carrots anymore.
Pud - I assume you have created your user name and password on My Fitness Pal? Log in and you will hit a home page which will show your daily total calorie allowance. Look at the blue tabs near the top of the page and select 'Food'
You will then see your food diary for the day.
Click on 'add food' under whatever meal you wish to record then type in what you have eaten - a drop down list of various makes etc will appear and then just select the one you want. If you need to adjust the amount just click in the box and you will soon get the hang of it. It automatically deducts the amount of calories from your total.
If you do any specific exercise click on the exercise tab next to the food tab and record the exercise - you then get bonus calories added to your allowance.
I still mess up every now and again - if you find you have entered the wrong thing just click on the red 'no entry sign' and it will disappear - alternatively click on the item and it will allow you to alter the amount (only discovered that this week!)
Have a play - you will soon get used to it. The useful thing is that it keeps you focussed and helps you realise what a 'portion' is. When you get used to finding food etc nearest to the ones you want you could do what I do - I put in what I want to have for my next meal and then if my total shoots into 'the red' (over calories!) you can delete something and replace it with something different.
I typed in baked beans into one of my meals one evening and exceeded my total - I deleted the beans and entered a grilled tomato instead which kept me under my allowance!
One helpful thing is that you will see a list of foods you have entered before so if, like me, you have the same thing most days for breakfast you simply click to add each day. You need just to play trial and error!Simples
Hope this helps but if you have any problems just ask as so many of us use it that someone is bound to be on hand to help!
Good luck
Well shamefully, I've put on 2lbs
Thank you for the reminder about how helpful MFP is Sbagran. I haven't been bothering with it for the past few weeks, but it does make a big difference and I'm going to go straight there now and add my breakfast!
I'm going away to Edinburgh for a few days at the end of the week....it's so tempting to say I'll get back on MFP after the trip, but if I start now, at least I'll have a few 'good' days under my belt before the weekend.
I'll follow your Maltesers example grannyeggs and bin the half a packet of Welsh cakes in the cupboard, squirt washing up liquid on them to stop them jumping out and straight into the toaster.
Well done to everyone who is losing & maintaining weight!
I'm off to find where I left my weight loss mojo!!!
Found the mojo...hiding behind the rice cakes. MFP filled in for breakfast and healthy lunch. Starting to feel a smidge more in control! Nordic Walking and aerobics this afternoon should top up the resolve.
I can't slide backwards too far......I've sold all my fat clothes on Ebay!
I have lost another `1.5lbs really pleased so this is how it looks
Week 1 5lb
Week 2 2lb
Week 3 1lb
Week 4 1.5lbs
Total 9.5lbs
notso I am pleased you have your mojo back
This weeks total 0lbs
Challenge total 26.4lbs
Glass surely not? Some of us did lose weight didn't we? Or was that compensated for by those who gained?
Oh no! Does my gain invalidate others' loss? Mortified!!
Sorry folks but its the + & - thats thrown it, but you always have next week to send the number in the other direct and after all its only 67 days to C so lets see what you are all made off
