Devon County Show is on. I always used to go but find the crowds difficult now, and my back doesn't like too much walking around. And it's raining here today.

I'm doing Devon County Show later today. Just waiting for the rain to clear and I need to time it for a good lunch at the show!

Do you show animals yogitree?

I used to love the East of England show back in the day. DH always had to be there for two days so we would borrow a friend’s campervan and stay on the campsite. The kids loved it.

I used to enter the 13.2 and 14.2 h show pony classes, best rider, mounted games etc etc. Great fun and my ponies stayed with me all their days.

Nowadays only fun classes with my golden retriever, but used to show horses and ponies also riding club stuff. Gave up riding through my health aged about 50 (felt like 80).

I wish! Although I might manage a lead rein pony class with my little granddaughter if I could persuade her M & D!

To be honest I didn't, really. I suppose they need time to build it back up to what it once was. Disappointing array of classes with many missing. Quite commercialised and not indicative of the local talent - no baking, flower competitions, rural classes etc. There was some 'so-called' crafts for sale (which you see mass produced everywhere) with only a handful of actual crafters there who made their own goods (these were splendid). As for the equestrian classes, well I was really disappointed in the standard of training, riding and turnout! It was quite depressing really.......
