Not freedom day, but "you've got the vaccine and now go back to being cogs in the economic wheel day"

Everyone in Waitrose today was wearing a mask. There were a few empty shelves which had signs saying that Covid was to blame for shortages. Later I had to pop round to the Health Centre to collect OHs prescription. They have kept to their mask wearing rules. I had a text from the Vet today explaining that they aren’t changing their rules any time soon.

Never understand what BJ says. I really try to concentrate but soon lose the thread amidst all the waffle and side stepping the question that he always does. By the time he’s finished I realise that I haven’t got a clue what he’s said!

It's good to hear the mask-wearing rate seems to be staying up. I'm going out for a coffee tomorrow but to the place we have always been to (nice cakes) which has a garden big enough to keep people at a comfortable distance. I will be interested to see how many people walk through the shop with masks on.

A quick call at Lidl for a few things has shown me that the vast majority of people are still wearing masks and using sanitiser. There were three people in the store who weren’t wearing masks.

Just after posting, Pippa, I saw on Facebook an image of a teatowel with a quote from Nelson Mandela in 1995 ^"Now is the time to accept in our hearts and minds that with freedom comes responsibility."^

That quote really resonated with me Elegran so true and so applicable to our current situation

It's a difficult one schools are reporting positive tests here. My GD nursery has closed because of positive results. We have recently met friends in two local restaurants for lunches. However the restaurants have temporarily closed because of positive test results with staff.
I went shopping to Asda and Sainsbury's both within a mile of where we live. Half of the customers had no masks on its their choice now but I wore mine.
Just like everyone I want an end to this Covid nightmare and I feel so sorry for people with family abroad. Who have not seen their loved ones its heart breaking for them.
I hate wearing masks I long for the freedom we had but I still worry about covid especially the younger generation. I personally still want the protective measures in place as I am not convinced we are free of it.

Nothing seems to have changed here. Shops asking customers to keep wearingmasks, screens and sanitised still in place although few people were using theirs. Our life won't change much just being able to take the bunkers, wash our balls on course and take the flag stick out. DH still doesn't have a spleen so we carry on as before crowds,no public transport, only well managed restaurants and often sit outside.
