NHS Covid 19 Track & Trace app now available

Thanks for all the suggestions. My iPhone won’t update past 12.4.8 - there’s a message saying your software is up to date. I’ve been on line and others are in the same position . I think there’s one IPhone 6 model that it works on. I think this problem occurred with the system piloted on the IoW. From what I’ve read it’s a hardware issue to do with older phones not being able to handle the required measuring distance needed. DH has a newer Samsung so I’d be covered when out with him.

My iPhone is old 5se? and am on pay as you go so does that mean that it won’t work? ( don’t want to waste hours trying if it’s a non starter)

I've just gone to download it and I can see the app for Northern Ireland, and another for Scotland but none for ordinary uk, am I doing something wrong?

Bluetooth always runs my battery down too quickly and coupled with the fact I only switch data on when I need it as I (gasp!) use pay as you go, can’t see it being effective on my phone

My husband has an iphone 6 and he has installed all updates available but he has been told it is too old.

Won’t work on my phone as phone is tooold!

Put it on both our phones. I was amazed that it was so easy to download. Hopefully never hear from it.

I see the problem for people without smart phones but do t know the solution.

Hi JenniferEccles, this new app doesn't track your location, so it's not related to any tracking apps that might already be on your phone.

You download it from Apple or Google Play. I tried to do mine yesterday but it wouldn’t. It will now.
As of today by law bars, restaurants and sports clubs have to register for NHS QR, download a QR poster and display it on their premises for people to hold their smart phones against and be recorded as part of test and trace. For those who don’t contact details have to be taken manually and kept for 21 days

Just downloaded it as it will be easier for the person running our upholstery class. I know one of us will be grumpy about it, but I think it's worth doing.
