Joyous family reunion (sort of)

What a lovely idea, the simple things are often the best.

My friend takes herself out for a long walk or bike ride most days. While she was out for a walk through woods and across local hill, she thought she'd phone her son and ask what they were up to, he replied "we're walking down the hill behind you!" She was over the moon, even though she couldn't give the grandchildren a cuddle. Pure coincidence, not planned.

It was amazing how just seeing them and being able to talk to them directly was just great. It truly is the little things.

Congratulations Jane10 on making the day so special for your DH. It must have been lovely for your daughter and grandson to have the opportunity to see you both from a safe distance. Happy birthday to your DH, and a pat on the back for you
