Fantastic achievement by this wonderful man.
Hoping that some of the money will be put in a trust and specifically be used to purchase and stock pile millions of items of PPE for NHS and Social Care workers so that if in the future we have another outbreak we will be ready.

Imagine being able to achieve something like that at the end of a long life, well lived. What a poppet....sincerely hope his ability to motivate so many will earn him an ? award of some kind. Only fitting, I feel.

Just been watching Captain Tom on TV, what an inspirational man, the response has clearly taken him by surprise too. He sent such a positive message to everyone .

What a wonderful positive message to all. If this lovely man can make the effort, so can we. Such a timely uplifting example has really cheered me on.

A true gentleman in every sense of the world. Thank you Captain Tom, you are marvellous, encouraging us all to look at the positive. I see a young girl has set up a link encouraging all youngsters to send him a card on his birthday, the 30th April. Now we have his address thanks to Cassie J perhaps we could have a campaign on GN to do the same.

Should be of the word, of course but typo could apply as well for this fantastic man. There is always something you can do as he has shown us.

12 million now and donations from around the world. Such a gent and inspiration for us all especially when we are having 'a can't be bothered' day.

He was a hero who fought in wars and a hero today.
A plaque should be dedicated to him whilst he is still with us.

He should receive a knighthood or similar as soon as possible. A true inspiration bless him.

Bless him - he started this in a quiet way, just to try and raise a relatively small amount as a thank you to the NHS staff and just look what's happened !
I just hope that the money raised will go to actually where it is needed - unfortunately, donations to hospitals have a habit of disappearing somewhere and not being used in the right place.
