Looking at things through their young eyes, so much excitement for the small things in life that we forget about.

Seeing the wonder in their little faces at something new they've learnt or discovered. Usually something so very simple, something we take for granted..... but shouldn't!
Oh and hearing the excited cry of "Nanaaaaaa" when I call round unexpectedly. I will never tire of that sound.

Loving the moment of being near them at the moment, especially to help my overworked full on farming daughter. Enjoying seeing their progress in life & their love. Just want to keep going as long as I can,

Spending the day with my granddaughter is so special. She chatters non stop. We had a very poignant moment last week sitting on a park bench she looked up and said Your not going to die are you Nana?

When my granddaughter holds up her arms and says "Grandma , I want a duddle " (cuddle)

Hearing my grandson say 'love you granny' at the end of our phone calls

All of the joy and none of the responsibilities,

My three year old granddaughter, on being told I was wearing an ID badge so people would know who I was, replied incredulously ‘but you’re Grandma !!’

I love it when my little grandson totally relaxes on my knee after our riotous playtime!

Handing them back when you've had enough

That feeling of overwhelming love that I had previously thought was only for my children.

Our grand-daughter is delightful. We enjoy every minute we share together.

When the two of them jump on my bed shouting "get up grandad" better than any alarm clock!!

Children are our legacy and future. As grandparents we are given a second opportunity to enjoy and reflect upon the amazing development of a child as well as their fascinating play and learning.

Ours provide such joy and magic. Yes they are tiring but that was always the way.

"You always get a good feed at Granny's". From my 11year old grandson, whose parents are both excellent cooks!

The change of expression from bewildered to joy when my 2 year old grandson was looking out for me on a crowded station

Enjoying the unconditional love we have for each other; having "exclusive-to-us" adventures and then putting my feet up when he goes home!!

Smiles and hugs from most of the 11 we have as long as they're not in that 'bit embarrassing, eh, what?' phase that they all go through.
