Christmas Boxes for Postman etc.

We gave £20 to our shopping delivery chap, they change drivers all of the time , but I asked him to put it into the pot back at the depot with our thanks.
I’ll give to our new Postman as the postmen take it back to the depot and I get a thank you card in the New Year.
I usually give to the dustmen if I’m up early enough, but lately they have been here before I get up at 7, so it’s ready and waiting if I see them.

I’ve always given our postie a couple of bottles of wine which I know he likes. This year he gave us about a tenners worth of first class stamps as he always gets a load given at work so that was much appreciated and he looks after us very well. Don’t have a milkman, used to give the binmen some beer when I knew one of them personally, I should probably give them something. Don’t see why I would give my hairdresser anything, it’s her own business and she’s pretty expensive. I think the whole tipping business is a bit irrelevant these days in the whole.

I give tubs of chocolates to my binmen/postie/surgery receptionists (I never have a problem getting an appointment) and my window cleaner.
I always buy them when 2 for £7 at the big supermarkets so it doesn't cost too much to show my appreciation.

Yes Glam. I gave him his Christmas box last week. He's such a good soul and has been brilliant over the years.

I used to give something when the postman was the same guy for years but not now it's a different one every day almost. I would never tip binmen. They used to walk up my very long drive, collect bin, empty and replace, Now I have to lug heavy sacks to the end of my drive myself. They get paid well enough, while I exist on less than £700 monthly state pension.
