Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry and clear at the moment here in Brackley , the forecast says fog which is seasonal for this time of year but also cold.
Today get a early bus go the bakery cafe in Bicester have a coffee and a snack , maybe a beer after , do a shop and hopefully chat to people I know, mind you there are not so many people about shopping due to costs etc.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. Ashcombe happy anniversary to you both. latedecember that's a pity you have succumbed to the lurgy.
Yesterday didnt go as planned for the boys other granddad. He was on his way to theatre when it was cancelled because there wasnt a high dependency bed for him. Dsil was in a rage although his dad was fairly sanguine about it. I went to the school library in the afternoon to tidy up and encountered both boys on the wsy in. Dgs1 gave me a wave but dgs2 came hurtling over for a hug. Then he gave me another hug on my way in, followed by half a dozen other wee boys who also wanted a hug! The story reading went well and the class were really responsive. They had a student teacher(who looked sbout 12) and their own teacher who would like me to do more events with the class in the future so I count that a success. Later I collected the boys and took them home for a couple of hours.
Today I shall have a quiet morning then off to art class this afternoon. I am planning a still life. Dinner will probably be mince and potatoes. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry bright start to the day with just a few clouds
A very Happy Anniversary to you both Ash enjoy your meal out later
I’ve a much quieter day today, this morning I’m going to potter about and have a wander in the garden and then this afternoon I’m going over to the volunteering centre for a coffee and catch up with the other volunteers. We’ll catch up on all the news and hopefully see a few people I’ve not seen for ages. DH is out this morning at his usual Thursday Men’s Shed get together which he really enjoys
Hoping your sons appointment with the consultant goes well madeleine
Lovely photos BlueSapphire your cruise sounds lovely

Good morning from misty Leicestershire.

Went to the hygienist yesterday and she complimented me on how I clean my teeth.

Today we are meeting friends for coffee in a local pub.
This afternoon Covid jabs.

My DD got married in Dubrovnik Bluesapphire it was a sight to see her wandering around the town in her dress eating ice cream. Afterwards we all went on a boat trip with Croatian singers.

Happy Anniversary Ashcombe that’s a lovely picture.

Wishing everyone, easpecially Marydoll the best day possible.

Good Morning from Durham. The sky is blue with some high cloud.
It was a lovely outing with DD2 and family yesterday - pumpkin picking, soft play, fairground rides etc near Hexham.
I’m off for my ‘flu and Covid boosters at 10am, so I might have a walk up to the cathedral for a coffee afterwards. I rarely go into the City centre these days. My garden bin is empty, but with enough fallen leaves and windfall apples to fill it up for its final collection of the year.

Hope Marydoll is comfortable and getting suitable tests and treatment.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Sunnyside northerwest coast. Excellent recital yesterday, the performers gave a lovely programme and dressed up, a bit of bling, not always seen in classical musicians for daytime concerts.

I then bought myself a walking duvet coat. Padded, hooded and nearly down to my ankles. Not bothered about being elegant, I’m thinking of the weather to come… Saving Grace is it’s not black, but a sort of deep heather colour.

Felt inexplicably tired when home and fell asleep in a chair, woken by son ringing to arrange a meet up for him to collect a new motorbike (wish he would buy a car…)
Today into the city for lunch at a smartish restaurant with old opera singing friend. I’ve known him since our chorus days.
Wish I didn’t feel so tired, even though I had an early night, punctuated by dreams, in one I was advising Sir Laurence Olivier on his voice!😁

Congratulations Ashcombe and thoughts to all 🌺

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. I am late today - why is it that time crawls along in the middle of the night, and then when you wake up late it flies!

Yesterday at writers group we were few, but discussed the areas we had lived as children and exchanged black and white photos of same we had brought. It will form a topic for next week’s written exercise but unfortunately I won’t be there for it. I called in at the covered market on the way back to the car park and bought some fresh Derbyshire Oatcakes. They are lovely with bacon and eggs for breakfast. Not many places sell them these days. I remember when I was growing up, they were sold from door to door every by a man who came round every Saturday with a wicker basket covered in a gingham cloth. They were the mainstay of Sunday breakfast with thick slices of bacon, eggs and tomatoes.

Walking group this morning so I shall have to get a shift on.

Happy Anniversary, Ash💐! Lovely photo😊!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk,an unexpected and unpredicted pleasure. I have my stretch class at 9.30 and then a friend from that is coming back with me for coffee here as she has expressed an interest in looking round our 11th century church.

Our garden adjoins the churchyard so not far to walk. It is open all week during summertime but only at weekends when the clocks change. As I’m on the rota of cleaners I have a key so no problem in getting in.

Lovely photos this morning…thank you. I hope those celebrating special dates or enjoying family visits have a good day and those unwell or with worries have a restful one.

Like so many on here I am thinking about Marydoll and hoping that no news is good news. U3A book group here this morning to discuss “Cahokia Jazz* about which I have mixed feelings. Otherwise grey and still and I am watching what looks like an egret in the field at the back - surely not?

Good morning all and I think we’re in for a fine day here in Essex. Yesterday turned out lovely. too. .

Our decorator worked hard and got a lot done . Hes a perfectionist so takes his time with preparation . 👍. He’ll be back today and tomorrow.

DS1 popped in after work to phone Sky for us. My goodness it’s a frustrating procedure. He got there eventually.
DDil came to pick him up and sorted out my phone/I pad . I had tried to do it but was thwarted at every turn. Life is so complicated now for our generation.
Rosesandlilac I too am lucky with my daughters in law. It’s not always the case so I’m grateful to them both.

Happy anniversary Ash and odds. ❤️.
GM oh dear , I’m glad I wasn’t in your area yesterday.

latedecember I can’t imagine you need a parenting course. I’d have been a little miffed at being referred to ‘experts’. Affronted , even. You probably have more experience than most.

Thoughts with Madeleine and Marydoll. I hope things improve.

Take care all. 🌻

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where a dry day is promised. I can’t really take advantage of it as I am heading up the M6 to meet my friend in Penrith. It’s a half way meet for us both. It’s been arranged a while so I don’t want to cancel.
We forgot about half term I hope the motorway won’t be too busy. There’s a number of stretches with a 40/50 mph speed limit so extra time is needed to get there. DH will take CDog out to the woods in the little camper while I take the car. We rarely travel abroad though we spend a lot of time wandering around in this country in our camper during the summer but your photos of Dubrovnik and Italy Blue Sapphire have made we want to do something different and have a proper holiday. My parents went to Yugoslavia on their first holiday without me when I was sixteen and came back thrilled about how beautiful it was. At the time I wasn’t interested but now I’d love to go. Maybe next year if DH’s sister can look after CDog.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Ash and a good outcome is wished for all those health issues or worries about family members.
I’ve been sleeping well since my recent jabs for some reason so I must move myself. My TiB is going cold and I must get up and off.
Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning from Kerry, I hope it stays dry today, my grandchildren have been given tickets to the Pumpkin farm, and my dd is working so its down to me to take them, tbh it sounds like great fun, celebrating the spirit of Samhain the brochure said, not sure what my church would think but its just a fun day for kids, my youngest grandson(8) wants to chat with the green witch ,,
I have to wait for the carers so dh will be up and had breakfast, I have a private carer coming in to give him lunch and a HSE carer in at 2pm to check on him, I should be home by around 4pm.
First though I have to put the injured/abused cat in the car pick up kids and drop him off at the vets on the way to the farm , they are checking him over and changing the splint on his leg, I think as he's eating and purring he is doing well, but I'm not a vet so fingers crossed, after the farm taking kids to macdonalds and then pick up the cat and drive home,my son is home early today so there's no rush really to get back except how tired we may be, I slept for just over 3 hours last night ,couldn't get to sleep no matter what.
Well on with the day, enjoy it

Just a very quick Good Morning as we were late up and the new cleaners are coming shortly so I need to whizz round in advance of that. I want to make a good impression!

Hope for better news from Marydoll - she was in my thoughts when I woke in the night.

Have a lovely wedding anniversary Ash and olddd. flowers

Take care all and hope the day is a good one with some ease and comfort for those in need.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A gorgeous sunny day. There's a nuthatch busy in the birch tree outside my kitchen window and a couple of coal tits. I live mainly on the first floor so look straight into the trees.

I love your lemony pictures Bluesapphire
Your dress is a perfect match.

Congratulations Ashcombe and DH on your anniversary. A good looking couple!

I hope to hear news from. Marydoll that she's being treated and cared for at last
and also Madeleine. Awful to worry about our DC

I'm tired today and relieved that yoga is off.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from a grey and still West Oxfordshire.

We didn’t go to Oxford yesterday - OH wasn’t well so I cancelled lunch and have rebooked for Friday.

So, having an unexpected day at home I got on with my new sewing project which is not such a massive undertaking as the enormous quilt.

It is the monthly book group today. The theme is books which have been made into films. I will talk about Pride and Prejudice, Jeeves & Wooster and Catch 22.

That’s a lovely photo Ashcombe. We visited that village last year and had lunch at your Reception venue!

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you who are experiencing difficulties.

Jaxjacky Thu 29-Oct-26 09:04:33

I’m loving your pictures BlueSapphire thank you.

A later good morning everyone from south Manchester because sleep evasion has me feeling like a space cadet right right. It doesn’t happen often (busy mind, feeling as though I’d an extra arm) but when it does it makes me super grateful for my ‘normal’ nights. How some of you function on little sleep I’ve no idea. I was in bed and asleep by 10pm, then awake 2am - 5:30am. Thought about giving up, putting on the kettle and joining the early birds on here! Finally, finally I dropped back off for another 3 hours.

I have L’il Miss coming over soon 😮 as her mum has an appointment with a masseur. Deep and relaxing. A half term treat for a very busy mum. Then after that - nada. I have possibilities. Might do them all or none, see how I go later.

Good morning from a dry still Co Armagh , after all the stormy weather the lack of wind is a blessing
Yesterdays club was fun , a few were missing due to a road closure,
The talk about film archives was accompanied by some clips from local films ranging from Belfast pre cars with horse drawn trams , to a recent interview by our local history society chairman
It was interesting
Today is a day of cancellations so I’ll probably fall asleep in front of the tv
Thinking of Marydoll and Madeleines son

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 29-Oct-26 09:52:17

The mention of jigsaws reminded me that my stepfather passed me this one after he’d done it. I like the way he always bags up the straight edges when breaking it up 😁

I’ve not done one for many a year so it’ll keep me out of mischief!
