Good morning from Shropshire.A damp start but hopefully brightening up later.

Our instructor stepped up the exercises at class yesterday so we were all relieved when it was time for coffee but glad we all managed the increased pace!

Today should be a day at home but we are on standby until one o’clock in case we have to take our son in law to A and E look after the children. He is quite unwell, the dr will review this morning.

Hoping Marydoll is being well looked after and that progress is being made in helping her.I also hope madeleine has had a better and less painful start to the day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

Good morning from a bright, sunny Cornwall where I'm watching the trees dance outside my window and planning my day. I think I mustn't let the coast lure me today but stay at home and do more patio clearing. Mmm, we'll see how that pans out... 😁

This evening I'm at my eldest son's house for tea with his children and my youngest son. Joyous.

I was on the Acute Medical Unit for two weeks before my angioplasty Marydoll and found it noisy and tiring though somewhat entertaining. I took my son's building site ear defenders and wore them the whole time, even at night. The staff let me out daily into the grassy grounds to lie on a blanket and read, but this was in May not nearly November. I do hope they take your various conditions seriously and that you have the best outcome for you.

Good morning Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle. I have postponed thoughts of an early walk.
I have just had a call from DS2 in Sydney, early evening there and sitting about in t-shirts.

I went into town yesterday on various errands which all went well. I treated myself to coffee in Nero's, my researches found they did the best flat whites in town so they're my usual.
Back home to a bit of housework, no gardening as the showers were rather frequent.

Today the window cleaner is due but he probably won't bother if it's still raining. I'm going to do my modest pile of ironing and perhaps tick off some of the many little jobs on my list.

Thinking of you Marydoll and hoping you get sorted out soonest. Best wishes.

Good morning from a sunny but chilly corner of S E Essex.

I might venture to M & S Foodhall, but other than that I have no plans. I have no childcare duty this half term which is very unusual.

Maeydoll I hope you are transferred to a quieter ward soon, hospital wards seem to have got so noisy compared to when I was a teen. Sending you a (((hug))) 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from sunny but chilly Wiltshire.

Ocado delivery and a curtain pole being put up is the only excitement for today. And some cleaning.

So sorry to hear you’ve been hospitalised Marydoll. I hope you get some definitive answers while you are there and wish you a speedy recovery. 💐

Have a good Wednesday all.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its dry at present, showers forecast for late morning then perhaps a bit of sunshine this afternoon and 15°C so not too shabby.

I’m meeting the brothers of Himself and their wives for lunch in the square today. I’m looking forward to it as we’ve not met up since July as holidays for us all have gotten in the way.

Later, early evening, I’m off to watch L’il Miss at her swimming lesson. I enjoy that time with the three of us and I get a 1-1 with our youngest daughter pool side during the lesson.

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk after a mixed day yesterday of persistent heavy rain in the morning and lovely sun in the afternoon.

We have had a lovely long weekend with all 3 AC and 6 of the DGC, the older 2 away at university and sad to miss out on our get togethers. All are now back in their homes and following their own plans for the rest of the half term holiday.

I have decided to miss my keep fit class which will start in less than an hour as I need a slow gentle start to today. I’ll pick up my usual routine tomorrow.

I thinkI’ll probably do some more tidying up in the garden and do a light prune of the rose bushes so I can enjoy the sun.

Hope Marydoll is being well cared for and others unwell have an ok day.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
A very small turnout at the music club yesterday and I was on the desk. My backings worked this time thank goodness and I had to find more songs as so few people. The bit I hate is the practical clearing away at the end, coffee stuff etc.

Picked up my train tickets for my future trips and a quiet night in.
Usual lunchtime recital today and I might take the bus to save the parking bother.
Thoughts to all and pen and ink sketch I did🌺

Morning all from a windy West Oxfordshire.

I had my Covid jab yesterday. No ill effects so far. I paid £78 as I’m not 75!

I hope you have a better day MaryD.

I started my new sewing project yesterday. An old-fashioned eiderdown which will comprise 18 x 12-inch square blocks. I have cut all the pieces out but won’t have time to do any more for a few days.

We are off to Oxford later. There is an interesting exhibition at the Ashmolean on Aphrodite, and we will have lunch too.

Have a good day everyone. Some of you are having more than your fair share of difficulties.

Good morning from a very mild Herefordshire. I am looking after a neighbour's dog today as she has a medical appointment. The dog is a lovely little chap, a very old terrier who is no trouble at all. Loves a cuddle. I've taken him out for a walk already. We will spend the day together with a little time in the garden as I need to dig up some geraniums to over-winter in pots.

Will watch the budget at lunch time.

Happy Wednesday all.

Beautiful sketch hollysteers. Love seeing them, what a treat.

Good morning from a sunny Kent. I think we shall make the last trip for this year to our favourite garden and have a light lunch there. Yesterday we took DD2 and GS5 to the local cafe, absolutely packed out, we had reserved a table. The food is ok but it is so convenient, very short walk for DH.
Marydoll despite all the carrying on I think you might be in the right place at last, they can’t deny what they can see for themselves.
All the best everyone

Good morning from an overcast cold Co Armagh
Quiet day yesterday , I think I spent most of it asleep in front of the tv
Daughter said I should go and lie down instead of curled up in the chair , but I never know I’m asleep till I wake up ! If you know what I mean !
Club today , we have a speaker about film making ?. Bit odd for an aged audience , I’ll report back .
Hopefully a better day far all , especially Marydoll

Morning all,
Haven’t read all the posts yet, but just want to send best wishes and kind thoughts to Marydoll. Sorry to read that you are in hospital and I hope they can find a bed on the right ward as soon as possible. 💐

Do you watch All creatures Great and Small, Madeleine? James's little boy, Jimmy, has just realised that farmers don't have much choice about holidays and is having second thoughts about taking over his grandad's farm when he grows up! 🤣

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 28-Oct-26 10:34:41

I like that photo monk it’s very atmospheric and the 3 dark figures give it perspective.

Hope you get moved to the cardiology ward soon Marydoll. That consultant will doubtless be surprised on his next ward round.

You are a ⭐ for stepping into the childminding breech Grandmabatty as it’s a 50% more commitment for you for the next few months. Pace yourself when you can and put those feet up. 😊

Good morning everyone from the bright but chilly midlands.
Currently I'm sulking in my bedroom having a grumble like a moody teen!
The reason......Dear son & partner have come to live with us due to a new job in this area & they are soo messy. Shoving dirty plates into the dishwasher, piles of washing everywhere, buying takeaways every night despite a freezer full of good food. The worst of it really, is that DH can't see anything wrong with it & he is now joining -in playing silly computer games with them!
I feel so cross & alone in my own home, its just awful.

mumofmadboys Wed 28-Oct-26 11:14:18

Hope you soon start feeling a lot better Marydoll and can get home soon x

Good afternoon, Michael12 and everyone!

Thank you to everyone for the gorgeous photos!

My brain is nonexistent today! More problems with ''The Beast'' last night, to the point that I had no more than 2 hours' kip and was awake the rest of the time, hugging hot water bottles, guzzling tea and other soft drinks and not knowing where to put myself with body and leg cramps; then I had to be up at 6 to be here at work for 7! Thankfully, the cold power shower I had helped!

I was washing 2 paracetamols down with a bottle of Juice Burst Apple to try to ease things at about 3 am!

In 2027, my birthday will be the 29th April when I'll be 62, so somewhere between May and December I'm thinking of retiring. It's not the job I have now; it's The Beast. I have various hobbies and interests I do now, so I wouldn't be bored or anything. Other than The Beast, I'm physically OK and happy, but it's just taking far too much out of my brain and body, to the point I don't want to leave my flat any more! I just want to sleep and drink and walk in the rain!

I'll be watching something on YouTube tonight, but not sure what yet!

And, to inform you of something you've always wanted to know, a group of hyenas is called a cackle!

See you all later!
