Do you always alter your clocks?

My car clock has been on GMT all summer so no need to change that. My watch and alarm clock have been changed.
The first few days when it goes dark earlier always feel a bit weird.

Of course!
Never changed the car one as DH didn’t know how to do it. He never did the house ones, I did!

I’ve done them all except the one on the cooker because I can’t remember how to do it and the car clock which I’ll need the instructions to do.
I like to keep some battery clocks at least they’re not affected by power cuts!!

I wasn’t sure whether my bedside clock/ radio would change by itself, so when I woke I had to switch the light on and check my phone. The clock had updated, but by this time I was wide awake, far too early. ( 5.30am).

Nice that the phones and iPads do it all by themselves.

Indeed. Thank the Lord !!!
We alter all the manual clocks that don't do it themselves.
I get confused enough as it is. If some of the clocks showed time different by an hour God only knows what would happen.........🤣🤣

Well of course I change my clocks how could you live in the world if you don’t change them, you d miss all your appointments, work, tv programmes etc etc
Far too complicated to try an add or subtract an hour from the clock every time you re going somewhere or doing anything and why ?

I love clocks, think we have about 14 in the house, including cooker and microwave.

Changed several yesterday, our chiming one is a bit more complicated, so did it today.

DH will struggle to do his car clock, think we were about an hour trying to work it out last time! You Tube wasn’t much help.

Our son lives in Vancouver BC, they will not move their clocks this year, it was done for the last time in March.

It will be interesting to see what the Canadians think.

Thats DH job I give him all the clocks, 3, and the timer/ thermostat for central heating. The only one I have given up on is the cooker clock even if the power blips off for a second it goes off and it is a pain to reset so I don't bother. We will do the car clock when we next to out in it.

I leave the outside clock on BST and after I’ve driven a few miles the car clock changes itself.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 25-Oct-26 12:44:57

Yes all clocks altered. I have a granddaughter clock in the hall and the wrong number of chimes would drive me mad😄, likewise the tinkly one in the sitting room.

Oldnproud Sun 25-Oct-26 12:41:39

I wouldnt dream of not changing them - though I leave the car one to OH.

Actually, for what I think was the first time ever, OH beat me to it last night and changed all the downstairs clocks while I was out of the room, mid-evening. Luckily, he eventually remembered to tell me , otherwise I would have put them back another hour. 😄

Oh good, you’ve just reminded me. I’ve only got one clock and that’s in the kitchen, but I do need to change it…

henetha Sun 25-Oct-26 12:22:20

Yes. It's common sense.

nanna8 Sun 25-Oct-26 12:16:15

We don’t change our car clock because we haven’t worked out how to do it but if it goes into the garage for a service they change it for us which leaves us a little confused!!

MT62 Sun 25-Oct-26 12:14:41

Just altered mine. I know I shouldn’t but just altered the wall clock with a wood spatula as couldn’t be bothered going down to the shed to fetch a step ladder.

Oreo Sun 25-Oct-26 12:09:54

Yes, all our clocks and watches get changed….otherwise what’s the point of having them?

JenniferEccles Sun 25-Oct-26 11:51:15

That’s a good reason YesLets !

Fallingstar Sun 25-Oct-26 11:49:07

I change our two clocks. Of course my DDs haven’t a clue. The younger generation don’t tend to have clocks, their phones automatically adjust to the new time. Whenever I tell them the clocks are going back they roll their eyes.

I keep the car clock on BST. Something to look forward to during winter.

JenniferEccles Sun 25-Oct-26 11:44:03

I know it sounds a silly question but apparently some folk like to permanently stay on either GMT or BST.
It must make life really complicated surely, having to remember that the rest of the country is either an hour ahead or back.

Extra daylight is often quoted for the reason for doing it yet of course we don’t actually get more or fewer hours of daylight, just at a different time.

I’m just wondering if anyone does this, or has ever been tempted!
