Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and wet. Lots of puddles on the road. Brook well done on getting started with Christmas shopping. I have a few already. Marzipan I'm not surprised you are feeling leer about cooking. I would too.
Yesterday the boys were very good. I took them to soft play in the morning while it was still relatively quiet. A woman spoke to me and it turned out we had been in the same class at school. I didnt remember her at first then slowly my memory returned. She was very quiet and moved school. However it was pleasant reminiscing. The boys had an hour and a half of running daft and were fairly relaxed once back home. A bit of tech, tv watching, football in the hall and drawing and playing Frustration made the afternoon pass quickly. I phoned the doctor's surgery to find out what they wanted and it was the nurse checking I had made another appointment to see her, so that is done.
I had a good (for me) night's sleep and feel refreshed this morning. Today is a free day and I think I will definitely go to the retail park for some art stuff. Then just potter about. Have a good day all.

Good morning from chilly Leicestershire.

We are meeting friends for lunch at a nearby beauty spot. One of them broke her hip and leg in a fall 5 weeks ago and despite being 86 she is out and about.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a dull northwest coast. Enjoyable music club yesterday and my backings worked too. My iPad had been in aeroplane mode which I think had affected it. Then into the village, a little shop and a treat of fish and chips in the evening, so no cooking.
I watched an old series on YouTube, Cousin Bette. Catching up on classic British telly pleases me these days.

I might give the usual lunchtime concert a miss, the performer doesn’t interest me, I’ve had a short broken night thrymy hip and knee aching and I’ll catch up on some admin. Opera co. rehearsal tonight in the city, so that’s enough.

Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Gibraltar.

Yesterday was another sea day, so lots of reading in a sunny place on deck, and in the afternoon did a tap class which was good fun

I have no plans for today, no excursions booked, as I have been here three times already, but I may go ashore to have a browse around the cruise terminal. Then back to the ship for more reading.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Roses&Lilac I never feel guilty doing nothing. I can happily read even if there’s a sink full of dishes (no dishwasher here) waiting for my attention. Sure it’ll never be on anyone’s headstone ‘she wished she’d done more housework’.

Well done you for paying attention to your need for resting up awhile.

Keep practicing until the guilt dissipates.

Good morning from a dull Suffolk. We escaped the rain yesterday and I had a delightful few hours with a close friend for coffee and lunch in a nearby town.

I bought a brace of partridge on the way back to the car park from an excellent butcher where a local gamekeeper had delivered them earlier in the day. DH will casserole them at the weekend. Although they are still quite small as it is early in the season I’m sure they will be delicious.

Off to my keep fit class shortly and then an afternoon in the garden doing more tidying up if the rain doesn’t come.

Hope all enjoy whatever happens today.

Good morning from Durham, where we are forecast a wet day, at times feeling barely above freezing.
I have an empty today, but at this time of year, gathering fallen leaves and windfalls is a daily chore. Later, I fancy a bit of a trip out - when I meet various friends for coffee during the week, it’s always within 3 miles of home - so I actually don’t go far. I love driving, but for me, it has to serve a purpose, not just driving around for the sake of it.
I want to buy Premium Bonds too, but all online these days, so I’ll see how that pans out. I know Gingster has had so many problems just adding to hers.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday wasn’t a good day, I felt as if my every last nerve was shredded by the situation affecting a family member. I really must pull myself out of the slough of despond but I just feel so sad and sorry for them.

Anyhoo today I’m doing my new ‘volunteering’, a shift in the wool shop It’s where our yarn group meets and last night I saw that there had been a delivery so that will have to be put away today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good Morning everyone from another wet and soon to be windy (according to the forecast) central south coast. It feels chilly with no sun warming things up.

Yesterday had the sad news that are lovely cleaners for 12 years are retiring. They are two sisters who have been perfect for our needs and we shall miss them. The elder of the two has a very sick husband with cancer spreading throughout his body and it is terminal. She is over 60 and exhausted so it is not a surprise she needs to retire.

The youngest sister's daughter has offered to take us on (with increased pay rate!) and is coming, with her cousin, next week. Her Mum and Aunt will fill her in on what needs doing she said. She is experienced with her own clients so it should all work out well.

Then, DH had long awaited phone call with an appointment for the removal of a broken rear molar in November. It has to be done surgically and may need stitches.

Your mention of the Everley Brothers , Gingster brought back memories of their visit on tour to Huddersfield in about 1961. My friend and I had managed to get tickets and were hugely excited to see them. It was somewhat disappointing therefore, when only Phil turned up! It was during one of their many estranged periods. Given that their close harmony singing was their big claim to fame, it was much less thrilling than anticipated! We didn't get a refund either! Enjoy the tribute band - their songs are still brilliant.

Kind thoughts to all with struggles or worries of any sort and hope the day brings some relief. Take care everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I slept through the alarm again. I must have needed it.

Only 3 of us at Gaelic class last night. Maybe the others were as scared as I was
It was good as usual. I have been listening to the news in Gaelic to get my brain tuned in. Also the news doesn't sound nearly as bad.

I have a new Helper arriving tomorrow from Ireland . I wasn't going to host any more but since it doesn't look like I'll be moving any time soon I would rather not be alone in the house. She's a trained gardener which should be good. I just hope I can find a bed for her 😂

Yarn group today for a lot of catch ups. and some knitting
Another pretty garment from the Karmalady collection I see. Well done.

I hope all your outings are fun and that the approaching storm passes us by.

Good morning from a murky corner of La Sarthe.

I’ve had a poor night which saw us having TIB at silly o’clock! Then the cat wanted to come in …..

So I’ll just leave my usual Happy Hump Day greeting.

baubles sorry you’re having a tough time 💐

GrannySomerset Wed 21-Oct-26 09:05:50

Dismal morning so not rushing to join the world though must shower while the heating is on. Singing this afternoon but no other plans which is a Good Thing as I am still feeling less than perfect after last Friday’s jabs; since I had the two together I don’t know which has so affected me but something certainly has. I am definitely not a fan of being old.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Rain is forecast all day.

Well, yesterday’s trip to the Vet with Milo wasn’t a barrel of laughs, but we didn’t expect it to be. The Vet took some blood samples, and we should hear the results today. She then asked the nurse to clip off the matted fur where Milo hasn’t been able to groom himself. He is a 16 year old long haired cat and has got rather matted even with us brushing him. Anyway, after about ten minutes the nurse brought Milo back to the waiting room with an enormous bald patch on his side! She’d only stopped because he was getting agitated. OH was on the verge of tears. We were told we should bring him back and they would sedate him. We went home with Milo who was rather quiet and OH said that even cats should be allowed their dignity, it was a massive bill too.

Our cleaner came yesterday so all is sparkling. I tried to have a Covid jab at a pharmacy in our nearby town, but they were waiting for delivery of the vaccine. I will try again on Thursday. I had a flu jab last week at the Surgery but wasn’t offered a Covid one as I’m not 75.

Today is the monthly U3A lunch which OH organises. Tonight it is WI. The speaker is an Antique dealer, and we can take something to be valued. I might take a silver ladle which OH bought in Lithuania years ago.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Stockport.
I was awake for the first three posts but then dozed off again until half an hour ago.
I must get my breakfast and shower soon.
I was going to wash my hair but looking at the weather decided against it.
I am looking forward to seeing FGT for lunch and lots and lots of chat.
We are both very vocal, no gaps in the conversation!!

Yesterday I dropped a small but heavy safe on my foot.
It was very painful for the rest of the day and today just one toes is black as ink but obviously not broken.
It is going to determine which shoes I can wear though.

I hoe you all find something good about today although I don’t think it will be the weather.

baubles sending you a (((hug))) family problems which we cannot solve are heartbreaking 🌺

HelterSkelter1 Wed 21-Oct-26 09:28:22

Good morning from a grey N Surrey. I had a covid jab yesterday afternoon and am now very very achey. So today will be extremely quiet. Flu jab 2 weeks ago and hardly any side effect apart from the usual sore arm.
I hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

aggie Wed 21-Oct-26 09:38:50

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh
Had my covid and flu jabs yesterday , I had to get up and take paracetamol in the night , club this morning but I do feel out of sorts . I don’t usually get much of a reaction to injections
Have the best day you can folks , does the time change this weekend ? Or is it next weekend?

Grammaretto Wed 21-Oct-26 09:45:46

Oh Baubles I am sorry you have this burden to bear. It must be terrible not being able to help.
Sending hugs 🤗

Good morning from a damp Glasgow, where it is 8 degrees C.

I had a long, rivetting rambling novella of yesterday's adventure at Specsavers, it can wait!
However, I can confirm that I have been proved correct. DH is officially hard of hearing and has an appointment with an audiologist. He is not pleased. wink

Doctor's first thing this morning and prescriptions were missing. A very kind receptionist found a doctor to do them for me.
DH took me, for I wasn't feeling too good. You will be in and out in no time, says he. Half an hour later, he was still waiting.
One of the staff saw me and shouted, Are you here again. Why don't you just get a job here?
I replied that, I had plenty of experience.
You probably know more than many of us!!, was the response.

Dear Baubles, I am sorry that things are no better. I have been thinking about you.💗

Good news. My stalker has gone to Paris on holiday!

P.S. also I failed the hearing test. I too have an appointment with an audiologist! 🤣

Good afternoon, Michael12 and all!

I had a reasonable night last night after the awful previous one! Some leg cramping and loads of meno stuff, but I managed to get some kip! I got up multiple times to guzzle tea and soft drinks and to refill the hot water bottles, but other than that, it was OK!

I have a lifelong obsession with milk, am always guzzling it, each and every day, and while I was trying to nod off last night, after another huge mug of it, I worked it out that if I had £5,000, in 1 lt sizes, at £2.75, I could buy a whopping 1,818 cartons of Alpro milk!

Thanks for distracting me from tidying up the spare room.

I couldn't resist a peek. 🤣
