There are good people and there are bad people out there. Thank goodness for the good people to restore our confidence in mankind, and for the good person who looked after your poor cat. What a horrible thing to happen. We hit a cat once or rather a cat ran out and hit our car. Although we were on our long journey home with the children in the car we stopped. The cat was still alive and a kind pub landlord took him in and rang for the vet. We rang later in the week to see how the cat was.

So sad for your loss. RIP dear pussy.

Oh Romilo , I’m so sorry about your poor cat and how despicable of the driver not to stop.
One of our cats was run over outside our house . She was old and deaf and wouldn’t have heard the car . But the driver did stop and knocked on another neighbours door to find the owner .
Sadly four friends have had cats run over near their homes and none of the drivers stopped .

I’m so sorry you’ve lost your darling cat in such a distressing way. I’ve had two young cats run over on my quiet little cul de sac. My present two came to me as indoor cats and I’ve kept them safely in the house plus they have a catio.

With the incident you saw the very worst of people, but also the very best of people……

Hopefully it was quick for your poor cat and he will have not known, but what he WILL have known is that he was much loved, and he will live on in your heart where he can NEVER come to harm. Thinking of you.

I’m so so sorry! Someone did this exact same thing to my son’s cat, right outside his house! Their dogs barking alerted them to their poor cat screaming.

Some drivers have no care or consideration, the other day my husband who us disabled was trying to cross the road either me assisting him and a car mounted the pavement to avoid a lorry on a narrow road nearly knocking my DH over who cannot move fast, indeed if I hadn’t been there to pull him back I dread to think what would have happened. A passer by rushed to see if he was ok, physically he was but had become very upset and agitated so the passerby offered a lift in her car, just goes to show on the other side of the coin how kind people can be.

What a dreadful thing to do and not even have the decency to stop. I too cannot understand people like this. I’m really sorry.

Gosh how callous.
I remember how bad I felt running over a squirrel. That was a few years ago, still makes me cringe with the sound.

How awful. I'm so sorry for your loss. We had the same thing twice. It's so upsetting when a beloved pet dies, especially in such horrible circumstances. If it's any consolation, your boy would probably have died straight away and not felt any pain. x
