Good morning from a bright, sunny Durham, still dealing with ridiculous jet lag and had another 12 hour sleep! Never had this before. Still no car, so a friend is picking me up for coffee later.

Best wishes to all. X

Another lovely sunny good morning from Co Armagh, it quite breezy , i havent been out so I don’t know how warm it is
I bought a plant with the groceries in Lidl yesterday , I thought that had put the bill up by a lot , till I discovered a jar of coffee in my shopping , I had been looking at it and must have put it in the basket instead of the shelf , it’s not decaf so I’ll donate it !
Not a lot planned for today , I don’t think I could rustle up enough for a wash to justify turning on the machine
Hoping for a better day for all

Good morning from overcast Wiltshire. Whilst it’s been warm we didn’t really get any sun over the weekend despite the forecast and it rained at times.

I’ve got my second Shingrix vaccination this afternoon which I am dreading as I was so ill after the first when I got a uti (my only other in my mid twenties which was mild and may have been cystitis) with blood in my urine within a day of receiving it. But better than shingles.

School pickup yesterday. The GC’s were alright until GS2 got out his football and played in the kitchen with it until I heard him. As I was on my way out, I heard a crash as a glass with a glass straw was knocked onto the floor and broke. He had got the football out the previous week in another room and got resoundly told off then. When we dropped them off DD2 just said “Why leave it where he can see it, what do you expect”. It hangs in a mesh bag off the door of our downstairs cupboard. I expect at the age of 5 not to have to hide everything away before he comes. He is rarely told off at home. 😡

GM I am sorry to read about your washing machine woes.

Marzipan what a shocking accident to have endured. I hope you heal quickly. I once had a recently filled hot water bottle that leaked in bed which split as I lifted it out and burnt my arms and the tops of my feet. After that I’ve used electric throws on top of my duvet which are brilliant.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's overcast.

Yesterday went well with a visit from my lawyer who reassured me that I will be able to have a measuring up view of my new house but await the vendor's POA to reply to emails etc.

Earlier the Shelter shop sent a van and took a load of books away.

The potters and I heaved sacks and sorted in the studio. I now have to advertise the specialist stuff, wheels etc. it was a bit sad - end of an era.

They all say I should have a holiday when the move is done.
Lake Como sounds beautiful LLfL 😍.......

What a pretty young couple you were Monk congratulations and enjoy your special day.

Sorry for those feeling down or in pain or both.
I hope everyone has some joy today.

Good morning from a wet Stockport.
Whatever virus I have picked up is making me feel quite unwell, the cough is so irritating and I have had little sleep.

The plumber made good headway with the new shower yesterday and will finish off today.
No such luck with the people who did the work in the garden, they didn’t turn up to finish the job and I am kicking myself for paying them.
I am a trusting person and just expect everyone is the same, a lesson learned.
The point annoying me is that they did
such a good job, why spoil it by not doing the finishing off.

Sainsbury’s delivery at lunchtime and then my GD is picking me up on her way home from work to take me to their new home for a meal and to see the new furniture which has arrived since I was last there.

I hope you all see some Autumn sunshine today and enjoy your day.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but rain is forecast; glad I got the back grass cut yesterday. Pleased also that I had a much better night and slept like the proverbial.

I felt a bit out of sorts for most of yesterday, but I made myself go out for my mile walk, although I did give yoga a miss. Then I stripped and changed the bed and got everything washed and dried. After lunch I cut the back grass which now looks quite neat; I need to cut the front but that will be tomorrow. And then decided to change my cushion covers to the autumn ones, so stripped the summer ones off, washed and dried all the covers, and will get the autumn ones on this morning.
Then the kitchen floor will be waiting to be mopped.
I am trying to get most things done before my cataract surgery on Thursday.

There is an open evening at my rugby club starting late afternoon today, so I may go down to that - a chance to inspect the improvements made to facilities, meet players and watch a training session. Food also available.

Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Happy Anniversary Monk.

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

A lovely man came yesterday to look at my robot mower. He got it working again but I was so impressed with him and the firm he works for I ordered a new one which he will set up. My old one is 9 years old and one of the best things I have bought.

I too feel down now that the Proms are over and Strictly is starting it is the end of summer. I hate the winter!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Tue 15-Sept-26 08:16:04

Monk a very happy anniversary to you both.

RosesandLilac Tue 15-Sept-26 08:10:06

Good morning, it’s dull and dry here on the hillside in south Glos, cool too.
My trip to the dentist is going to work out very expensive in due time, apparently one of my front upper teeth has a huge area of decay (wasn’t picked up on previous routine visits) and will need removal at some point in the not too distant future 🥺 Then my options are an implant (£3k+), new denture (£1.8k) or a bridge (£2k). Oh what fun. Not.
So, I then went to the farm shop on the way back and consoled myself by buying their delicious homemade faggots and a fancy selection of olives etc.
In the afternoon I visited my friend in the village, they’re off to Australia for a month next week, I’m looking forward to hearing all about it! They’ve lived there and visited many times over the past 50 years so know the country well.
I made the damson, plum and blueberry jam, it’s rather delicious 😋. It always surprises me how much the pan contents reduce during the process. I’m getting hooked on jam making now!
Today SIL and her DH are here for lunch, I need to gee up DH up to clear up the mess he’s made setting up a new television yesterday, honestly you would not believe how untidy he is 😡, there’s polystyrene and gubbins all over the place. I set it up for him, a right palaver as he mislaid the instructions pretty much as soon as he took it out of the box!
Hope you all have a good day 🌹

Good morning from Sheffield
It looks like being a damp and dismal day here, it’s pouring down at the moment.
I managed to get all my washing dry yesterday and now the mountain of ironing awaits. I do weed it out a bit though after my September holiday. Any T-shirts or summary things I don’t bother ironing and I just pack away ready for next year so it may not be quite as bad as it seems.
I have WI this evening. It is a talk from a lady about mental health and we all have to wear purple as well, I have forgotten whyhmm

Take care everyone flowers

Jaxjacky Tue 15-Sept-26 08:06:19

Happy Anniversary the monks 🥂🥰, have a lovely day.

Liberty Tue 15-Sept-26 07:58:34

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after a dull but warm day yesterday. It felt warmer outside than in.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee and cake this morning before a check up at the dentist. The surgery has recently moved into the first floor of the GP surgery so parking there is more of a problem than previously.

Hope all can enjoy this lovely autumnal day.

ginny Tue 15-Sept-26 07:54:08

Good morning from N.Bucks where it look like today’s weather will be similar to the last few days., sunny intervals and showers.
The sorting of my craft room continues. Yesterday I dropped a tin and it fell directly on my toes. Ouch, they are somewhat bruised now. It’s my own fault I really should not walk around barefoot.
So today I shall hobble down town to have my haircut , pop into the chemist and bake a couple of cakes for a charity stall.
Sounds like some lovely holidays have been taken. Thoughts with those in pain and dealing with troubles and problems.
Wishing all a good day.

Jaxjacky Tue 15-Sept-26 07:51:27

Morning from an overcast S Hants, voluntary phone was quiet yesterday, I got some cleaning done in the morning.
Washing to do this morning, sun due later so it can go outside.
You have my sympathy gagagran I’m similar with my hip, it makes me sad.
I must order a few bulbs for pots, too early for the winter violas I love yet.

Have a pleasant day all

I’m off to the gym for an aerobics class and then having a coffee with my pal. That should take a while then hopefully the weather will improve so I can walk into town and get the bus home.
