The nearly 17 yr old (DGS2) starts sixth form college today, he has chosen the one near us. It is a difficult journey from where he lives involving multiple buses, or two buses and a train. The plan is when we are back from this little holiday he will stay with us one night a week. Which means that three nights a week we will have various GS’s staying here…

Cleaning fairies are here first thing, I will go to the gym for Pilates, then I need to start packing.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and rain is likely. Bellasnana sleeping boys sound just lovely.
Yesterday was quieter then expected. Once I'd dropped off dgs1 at football, I asked dgs2 if he wanted to go to soft play but he didnt. So back to grandma's house. He played quite happily and pulled out the felt pens to draw. Then all went quiet. I eventually headed to the kitchen to see what he was up to and found blue felt pen adoring my kitchen door handle and on my (white) kitchen door! It won't come off easily and I will have to try some strong stuff.
In the afternoon I had a very upset stomach. The doctor had warned me that it was a symptom of gallbladder trouble, so I was ok but it wiped me out. The clinic phoned to say I needed a full arm full of blood taken as I was overdue a diabetic review. We picked up dgs1 who was horrified at his brother's art work. They were both good then I dropped off dgs1 at his football training and dd picked up dgs2 and I went home. I was tired and early to bed then woke and couldn't easily fall over, so I was up drinking tea at 2 am.
Today I will get the boys and bring them back to my house for breakfast before taking them to school. Then home for a nap, I think. I will pick them up later and they'll come back to me for an hour before home. A lot of driving about these two days. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a very wet Torbay after rain fell all night and continues to do so.

Luckily, Props has been cancelled so I have an indoor day today with various domestic jobs planned. Before that, my DD2 will be ringing me (hands free) as she drives to school. They have had rather a shaky start to the new term with her DH and her DS having (what she thinks was) Covid.

Good morning, it’s wet, dark and chilly here in south Glos.
I’ve been awake since 3, goodness knows why, dozed a bit and then gave up and tidied my bedside table 🙄
I went into town early yesterday, intending to have a coffee before paying a cheque into the building society. I went to draw out some money and discovered that you can pay in cheques via the ATM, so that’s what I did! No need to hang around waiting for them to open so instead of getting a coffee I did a quick bit of grocery shopping and came home.
I had lots of blood taken late morning (10 vials!), apparently it seems that I might have Lupus? Hence the telephone consultation with a haematologist on Friday.
A quiet afternoon, I was tired after wandering around town. I did take a bowl of ratatouille to a friend along the road who was very touched.
Absolutely nothing planned for today, tidying and usual chores. There’s chicken Biryani for dinner, quick and easy.

Up early as we have to collect Wolfie again. He is still not well enough to go to school. He was a very chatty boy yesterday and both dh and I were wiped out by the time he left.

Good morning from dark and breezy South Lanarkshire.

Made a start on my crocheted Christmas angels last night, it’s a pleasant way to pass the time while listening to an audiobook or a radio programme, our yarn group will produce hundreds of them over the next three months ready for our annual give away.

Charity shop today, I’m hoping that the dust has settled after recent events and we can all enjoy working together again.

Good morning from Malta where it is still dark but a sunny day is promised with a high of 36°C.

Thoroughly enjoyed having the boys all day yesterday, they really are such sweet little chaps, always on the go but full of enthusiasm and such good company.

At around 3pm DGS1 brought a pillow which he plonked on me then climbed on my knee and went to sleep. I was pinned under him for an hour and a half but I didn’t mind as I love how he felt safe and loved enough to sleep on me., plus I could watch those precious little faces for ages.

His brother also gave in and had a nap next to us on the sofa so I was able to have 40 winks as well!

I miss them. The house is so quiet without them but I am having them several times this week and next so will look forward to it.

It is a public holiday here today, Victory Day ( victory of the Knights of St. John against the Turks in 1565). It is also our village festa dedicated to the Nativity of Our Lady.

I have some ironing to do but not much else. A nap will be necessary as I shall be getting up at silly o’clock tomorrow to watch Alcaraz v Shelton.

Good morning from s somerset, a dismal start to the day, dark skies, cool and rainy but good weather for the ground, which is bone dry and like a dust bowl

I did a quick allotment visit yesterday and pulled up all my desiccated and ruined cabbages. Cleared a few tomato plants from another bed and have prepped that bed for allium planting, which will happen in a few weeks. The squashes are hardening nicely

Maddison top 2 is now half finished, very quick to make and cosier than t shirts. Spiders are emerging in the house and disappearing beforeI can get the vac cleaner, I must collect conkers this year. There are at least two lurking in my bedroom

I made a meat order, not a lot because it is grass fed organic and very expensive. It could last a year as I always make it stretch and that will be delivered next week. Today I am going to make a batch of ready meals for the freezer, mild curries

No other work for me, just a bit of the daily pottering and knitting. I have to do a lot of driving tomorrow and need the rest today

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is still dark and I’ve been awake since twenty to two😩! All attempts to get back to sleep have failed and then you pass the point of no return where you’re afraid to drop off. I have an early chiropractor appointment this morning which entails a drive, so I couldn’t risk oversleeping.

Yesterday I went and ordered a new fridge. It’s basically the same make and model as the one it’s replacing but really not as well made and I’ll be lucky if it lasts as long - though having said that, at my age it could outlast me!

This afternoon I am back at school with a new cohort of Year3 readers. I hope they’ll be kind to me😂! Mind you, I might be asleep with my head on the desk by two o’clock!!

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It has rained a little in the night and we are set for a moist morning.
Yesterday was (sort of) quiet. A quick Tesco shop, the home for the crest of the day.
The last of the scaffolding was put up around my flat, one pole about 2 feet from the exact middle of my front door! Considering that he painting etc., started at the end of April and was due to take “10-12 weeks”, with everything signed off last Friday, the residents are not happy. At least, the vocal ones aren’t. The rest are content to grumble but do absolutely nothing about it.
I’m joining three other residents this afternoon to assess what has/hasn’t been done and report back to the management: whether “they” will take any notice is quite another story.
After that, I’ve got a meeting of the local old age charities, advisory group.
I hope madeleine’s” leg improves, that *fgt’s tummy bug doesn’t spoil her little jaunt, and that everyone else has a good day.
