A small Waitrose shop today and DH has the hairdresser first thing.
Our brilliant gardener came yesterday so the garden is looking as good as it possibly can.

Good morning from a damp and dull Suffolk where we woke up to no power. It has been on and off for the last 45 mins so I’ll use the present ‘on’ to wish you all a good day before it goes off again.
Off to my stretch class in an hour and it is our family get together tomorrow for the weekend at Potter,an all inclusive holiday resort with lots of activities for all. I hope to report back on Tuesday.

Another awful night, My mouth is so painful and kept me awake, I feel as I have been punched in the face! As for the headache!😣
There is a Scots word, gowping:, a relentless, thrombin pain, which describes it perfectly.
Yesterday turned out to be a lovely afternoon, so I decided to tidy the garage to distract myself. I feel we have no life just now, still no cardiology appointment for DH.
I am ashamed to say, our garage is in an awful muddle.
I found:
Ten bottles of laundry detergent,
Eighteen packets of Andrex wipes
A box of Italian wine, which was dated Jan. 25. it was under DH's golf trolley
At least fifty toilet rolls
Twelve bath cleaning sponges
Twelve metal pot scourers.
and the bonus buy, five mini bottles of Prosecco. DH had said there was none. 🥂
I was on a roll, when I began to feel unwell and thought I was going to faint. That put paid to my tidy up.
I may have overdone it yesterday
DH was most solicitous, more like his own self.
We had stripped the bed, including the mattress topper, so the bed couldn't be made up, until the topper was dry.
I went upstairs after dinner to make it up, to find the bed had already made up by DH. ♥️
Madeleine, if you cannot get a GP appointment, please go to A&E. When I came back from Sevile with cellulitis, my GP said, it was so severe, that if I had left it any longer, I would have been admitted to hospital, due to the risk of sepsis.

I need to visit the surgery today and also pick up some groceries. Because I haven't been out and DH still can't drive, we have run out of bread.
I may just put on the breadmaker.

Just seen this in the paper. Very scary!
It is very scary. I detoxed caffeine 3 years ago (it is a bladder irritant). I rarely drink coffee, maybe 2 or 3 cups in a month but I do drink 5 to 7 cups of tea in a day. I felt awful for 2 weeks (headaches and lethargy). I was surprised at how much caffeine there is in a cup of tea (40 to 55mg)
Good morning everyone from a very damp Northampton, it is actually raining and there are raindrops on the kitchen window! Heavy rain forecast this morning, and thunder this afternoon.
No promised rain arrived yesterday. I had a lovely lunch out with my wine club, 9 of us altogether and we sat, ate, drank wine and chatted for nearly 3 hours!
Was too full for any dinner yesterday evening, just fancied a piece of toast and some cheese.
A Sainsbury's delivery at lunchtime today, and no other plans. I may take the Shark upstairs as I noticed that the bedrooms and stairs need doing.

Good morning all from a very wet Black country, we have thunder and lightning at the moment. We had a terrific storm yesterday evening with rain running down the road like a river.
Yesterday's train trip was lovely weather was good not to hot, the food was delicious but I do find 3 courses to much now my appetite seems to have shrunk, can't say the same for DH though he is like Oliver please sir can I have some more.
Will be back later to catch up with everybody's happenings.
Hope Madeleine is a little better and Mardoll had a better day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry so far. Yesterday the sun came out and sitting out in my beautiful garden I definitely wondered why I am moving .... But I am.
My offer has been accepted for the house and there's a date for being out.
All the 'girls' at yarn group congratulated me and tonight I will crack open the fizz.
I spent most of the day either telling everyone or organising quotes for removals and house clearances!
My friend from the North is coming to stay from tonight. Another friend stayed over last night. My DB and SiL phoned from Denmark and DS from NZ. There won't be so much space for visitors in my next house but enough for family.

Good morning from a dull Stockport.
Yesterday I went to Manchester for an Echocardiogram which I found weird, I have never had one before.
The Chineses cardiac physiologist was very dour.
Apart from “stop breathing, now breathe “ she was very quiet which makes you think, what is she seeing?
When I got home I had a quick sandwich and then cleared out the cupboard under the sink ready for the plumber fitting a new tap.
Like Marydoll all sorts of bits were discovered, I don’t need to buy pan scrubs for years.
I asked him for a quote for refitting the shower cubicle in the downstairs bathroom , he will ring today.
I wasn’t going to spend any more on the house but have changed my mind ,it is for my comfort after all.
I have also accepted a quote for new sustainable decking in the garden and an Indian stone path leading to it from the conservatory, my Heirs are giving me worried looks.
It is FGT’s birthday today, I hope she is enjoying it with her family.
Good morning all. It’s raining and we’ve had one clap of thunder, getting me all excited, but it seems to be moving away, much to little pooch’s relief.
Today I’ll wander up to town, bank some cheques and visit M and S. foodhall. I don’t really need anything as DIL took me to Sainsburys yesterday, but I know my bag will be full when I come out.
Madeleine I do hope you get some attention today with more antibiotics needed. My friend has cellulitis fairly regularly and I can see how painful it is.
Hopefully you’ll get to Muker next week. It sounds wonderful. You are an inspiration in how you get about and don’t let things stop you. I wish my Dh were more like you. 😢.

Usedtobeblonde, we changed to sustainable decking after Covid. Our wooden one was starting to rot.
It was expensive, because I wanted glass sides. Apparently the Crossrail project is snapping up all the steel and prices are high. Who would have thought it.
It was a good decision, no more staining wood every year.
dragonfly, I had the call about the pharmacist. It is a new initiative in my surgery , to annually review medication.
It was extremely helpful. I managed to get a couple of special requests put on repeat.

madeleine I was admitted to hospital with cellulitis a few years ago as I was showing signs of sepsis. Fortunately intravenous antibiotics sorted it out very quickly, but it was scary. Hope your doctor takes you seriously and prescribes more effective antibiotics.

It is. I hadn’t realised just how much caffeine until I had a latte in Starbucks several years ago and couldn’t finish it. I really dislike strong coffee or tea and I find it difficult to get a weaker coffee when out. The nearest thing is to ask for a small Americano in a large cup with extra water and hot milk but even then it’s often too much for me.

Yesterday I went to the Blue Cross charity shop in Mealcheapen Street, Worcester and found this gorgeous bracelet for only £1.50! Fake silver/gold and there are no awkward clips where it's impossible to put it on yourself one-handed, as it's elasticated! I love it!
I'll spend today wandering around various parts of Worcester, up to Crowngate Bus Station and shopping precinct, as I used to drive buses from there for First Worcester - that was a trillion years ago! - and down to Lowesmoor where the depot is, where, depending on my shifts, I'd often be back at the depot to finish late at 12:50 am, 10 minutes to cash up/do paperwork then out fast before they closed at 1, then I'd have to be back there at 5 to get my first bus out at 5:30! So instead of driving the 12 miles home, I'd park my car in the woods and kip in it!

The hospital visits went well thank you Mary, not discharged from the clinics but a longer gap between appointments.My kidney function which was dire last year is back to normal🥳I felt quite upset being back at the hospital which was strange as it hadn’t occurred to me that I would feel anything but the consultant said it was very common after a significant illness to feel that way.Our psyche is a weird and wonderful thing!
Today is our stretch and balance class followed by coffee with friends.DH really enjoys the class.I prefer the meet up afterwards!
DGS was injured on a ride at Legoland a couple of days ago.He has a nasty cut on his foot.The ride was closed.Poor little fellow was in shock. DGD was very upset at so much blood.

Good morning everyone from cloudy 20° Lancashire. The threatened storm hasn’t arrived yet but I’m sure it’s on its way. We have had an hour’s walk first thing.
My blood test results are in now so I will be spending some time checking them on the NHS app. I have only looked at sodium so far and it’s perfect at 140, so relieved.

How glorious is that wonderful smell of the damp earth. I been out in the garden picking mini-sweetcorn but I haven't yet dared to peer inside, incase they're piddley like last year!

A very late good morning from a still, grey, murky Durham. We are forecast rain later. DD2 out in Majorca says it’s very hot, but also cloudy.
My gardeners are here – money for all rope in this weather – but they still have to be paid, as it’s their livelihood.
I got DD1 to completely empty my loft down into the garage. What looked like a small number of boxes transformed into quite a pile. I’ve given quite a lot away, there are two black bin bags to go, but still plenty to sort through. Of course it means I can’t put the car away.
I could write a book on my latest saga with the Dentist. It’s almost a year now and I’m hoping my expensive appointment next week will be my last for a while.
