Morning from a Blustery but sunny SE coast. Sea is whipping itself up into a frenzy. Spectacular.

GrandmaC47 Tue 25-Aug-26 10:10:03

Good morning all. I’m still reading your posts but as I’m still limping from my sprained ankle I’ve done nothing worth talking about.
Snap, Georgesgran, our DD2 and family flew to Majorca yesterday and we have charge of the two granddogs.
harrigran, our local pub/restaurant is fully booked for Christmas Day by the end of January.
BiL kindly took me to hairdressers this morning for a desperately needed trim.
Hope everyone has a good day and medical appointments go to plan. I’m exhausted reading of how busy a lot of you are 🤣

Morning all - I’ll try again!

My ice cream machine was delivered yesterday but it has to stand for 24 hours before I can use it. My backing fabric also arrived. It’s perfect.

Our cleaner’s daughter was unwell yesterday so she will hopefully come today.

OH managed to burn his arm yesterday while trying to unblock a drain. He had rubber gloves on but some of the cleaner seeped down the top of the gloves. His arm and hand are covered in little third degree burns. This morning it is red and swollen - but not painful. He will send a photo to Engage Consult and either speak to someone or have an appointment.

I am meeting friends after lunch. One of them has a birthday so I expect there will be cake.

Have a good day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's overcast.

I have had a long lie and hopefully have made a decision about the house I viewed for a 2nd time with 2 friends.

It's very different from my current house and much smaller in every way. It's front garden if the picture appears you can see is all gravel so for a keen gardener like myself it's needing a change.😄

Someone is coming from a charity to collect books this afternoon.

Sorry to hear you aren't well Harrigran
Susan I hope you make it to both hospitals and Dragonfly I hope you are getting better.
Your boys are so good these days GMB you must be proud of them.

Have a good day everyone.

Hoping everyone

Good morning from Sheffield
I woke up at five. I was ready to get up and make a cup of tea and then when I next looked at the clock it was 6:15. I think I’ve caught up with my sleep.
I was going to visit a local garden and stately home tomorrow with my friend but she’s got a bit mixed up and thought it was today, but unfortunately they don’t open on a Tuesday.
I am a little worried about her. She does seem to be forgetting quite a bit, anyway we booked to go at the end of September when we can have a tour around the house as well. She promises me she has put it in her diary .
Today is just a gathering day. We are going away next week to South Wales and I like to be organised. I will be thinking what to take and putting them on their spare bed.
I’m just relaxing with a cup of tea now after taking the gorgeous cockapoo out for his morning constitutional

Take care everyoneflowers

Overslept for some reason and am all behind myself in consequence. Bedding in the machine and the battle with the duvet cover awaits.

Definitely an autumnal feel now though by late morning it will feel like summer again. The “lawn” has hints of green among the brown and it is obvious how little is actually grass and not dandelions, daisies, coltsfoot an other assorted weeds. There is a week of rain in our forecast but I bet very little of it actually happens,

harrigran Tue 25-Aug-26 08:50:17

Good morning from an overcast NE where it is 14° with an expected high of 17°.
Did not feel well yesterday so spent the morning doing research for a festive meal out. The restaurants I prefer were already fully booked and still four months to go.
After lunch I sat on the sofa with a book and fell asleep, it was after 6pm when I woke. Makes me cross because I think I won't sleep at bedtime.

Only thing on the calendar is the hairdresser and she will be here at 10am.
Her sons are the same age as my GC so we discuss exam results, university choices etc.
Have a good day.

Good morning from Shropshire.A cooler start to the day.

I have appointment at two different hospitals in two different towns today so will be setting off shortly.I will come back and read all your news later.

Thinking of you all and wishing everyone a good day 🦩🌻

Georgesgran Tue 25-Aug-26 08:42:28

Good Morning from a murky Durham - it’s rained overnight.
I have an aching/burning muscle that needs a rub with Voltarol.
DD2 and family have left for Majorca, an early flight without any problems.
I’m taking a friend to hospital for an eye procedure this afternoon as she isn’t allowed to drive after it. It’ll be a relaxed morning with some garage sorting out to get on with.
I’ll walk DD2’s Little Dog before dark. The cool evenings are lovely, with the bats swooping around.

Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Aug-26 08:30:53

Morning, the sun is breaking through earlier clouds, it’ll be warm later.
Voluntary phone was very quiet yesterday, no rhyme nor reason.
This morning I have an appointment at a MSK clinic re my hip, I might get answers to questions the NHS is too busy to answer,
I’ll post quickly before the pesky interruptions, have a good day all.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Awaiting a call from the hospital as apparently the GP has reinstated the urgent referral! Our GPs are beyond efficient.
Had a long chat with DS yesterday morning- he had a good time in New York despite being scammed!

Will do a white wash now my back allows me to peg it out.
Will pop int town and get my hair cut popping into M&S on the way.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a fine day forecast, and it is so much cooler in the mornings now.

Yesterday was a lovely day, a bit breezy, but dry and sunny; went to yoga and then after lunch walked to the podiatrist, where he did another good job on my feet. Can now pretty them up and out some different nail polish on!
When I got home decided to have a trying on session of tops I have not worn in years, and decided to send 4 to the charity shop as they were a bit on the tight side.

A morning of pottering, may even do a bit of ironing! Then after lunch will join my walking group as it seems perfect weather for walking.

Aiming to make a pea and ham soup for dinner to use up the gammon leftovers.

Wishing all a pleasant cooler Tuesday.

Good morning all from a brightish but not terribly warm North Leicestershire.

Yesterday escaped and I didn't get round to the ironing so that is today's job.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 25-Aug-26 07:51:43

Good morning from a cooler Stockport.
I have missed a couple of mornings, I have been sleeping so badly that I doze off about 5 and then sleep in.
I race round, that is a joke, I crawl round catching up and them I forget.
Last night I made a Starbucks hot chocolate with a dash of Baileys and took an antihistamine, that did the trick and I slept reasonably well.

Haircut yesterday and an appointment for bloods and blood pressure at 7:15 pm.
The surgery is now doing evening appointments.
Blood pressure was up, not surprising due to events here.

Sainsbury’s delivery today and some more decluttering if I can find the energy.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning all, it's 11° C hear in Glasgow.

Yesterday was glorious. People were praying in church, so I took my sewing outside and repaired the cassock in the sunshine.
I was like the parish receptionist/gatekeeper. Both priests were out, and I ended up taking messages and chatting to passing parishioners. I had such a pleasant morning.

On the way home, I stopped at B&M to get mouse traps, but there were none left.
Others must be having the same problem.
However, I began to feel unwell and spent the rest of the day resting. DH made dinner!

Yesterday, I did not want to vocalise, my fear the the mouse may be pregnant, not fat! 😱
We have traps set everywhere, including poison, which is supposed to be 99% effective. Unfortunately, we seem to have the 1%, super mouse, who is resistant.
I don't know anyone with a cat and anyway, I am allergic to them.

Today, I have my much dreaded dental procedure, I hate going to the dentist anyway, but this is going to be difficult, due to my health conditions.
I have been advised, I may have to attend the dental hospital, if the dentist encounters any difficulty.
To add salt to the wound, I received an electronic invoice for the treatment. OUCH!

I wish you all a pleasant day.

Another disappearing post so I’ll try again later!

Love the kitten 🐱.

Rosesandlilac oh my goodness! You are going through the mill. Much sympathy

Redcar Tue 25-Aug-26 07:47:46

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, beautiful blue sky and sunshine this morning. A warmer day is forecast, it was quite cool yesterday. I hacked a few more branches from the rampant shrub at the end of the garden, it’s tangled up with two other equally large shrubs so not easy to get at. I could get the gardener to do it but he’d probably cut all three shrubs down to the ground!
I’m waiting for a painter to contact me regarding some decorating that needs done, texted him yesterday but no response so far.
rosesandlilac your tomato salad sounds delicious and very healthy. Enjoy your SIL’s visit today.

ash it may take a few days for your body clock to adjust to the earlier nights.

* karma* a busy day for you yesterday after your weekend of entertaining family. Lovely to see all the family together!

I hope all who are struggling find some improvement soon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gelisa Tue 25-Aug-26 07:47:32

Grrrr lost post. Take care care everyone 🌸

NannyJan53 Tue 25-Aug-26 07:46:53

Good morning from a cloudy and cooler Black Country.

Yesterday, I booked a RSV jab with surgery as I had received a text to do so. Appointment was for 7.25pm, so walked there as it is only 15 minutes, waited ages to be called in. She asked my date of birth, then said you have to be 75 and over! I said, I had a text asking me to book. So I showed her the text, then I had a terrible thought, checked the NHS No and realised this was meant for Mum!! Everyone has my number to contact her. I was so mortified to waste the Nurses time, but she was ok, said, keeps me on my toes smile

DD popped into Mums yesterday, she said she made a good job of pretending to know who I was!

Today, I am meeting DS for lunch in his lunch break, not met up since July at the girls birthday meal. He had 2 weeks away in St. Ives then we were away in Lyme Regis.

Such a lovely kitten Bellas looks like a cat I had as a teenager, we called him Marshall!

Wishing you all the best day possible

ginny Tue 25-Aug-26 07:40:45

Good morning, cool but sunny again here in N. Bucks.
We decided last night to have a day out at the seaside . We don’t go just for the day very often as the nearest is. Just over a two hour journey away. We’ll be off in about half an hour and will see a full day if it including a light lunch and a dinner. Looking forward to a walk in the sea air.
Wishing all a good day.

Liberty Tue 25-Aug-26 07:40:12

Good morning from a cool and sunny day. Here too as in some of your posts the trees are looking autumnal and leaves dropping. Dog walks in weather like this are really lovely.

DH has an appt this morning at the audiology clinic in our local hospital so I’m on tea duty for our builder who has taken great care in preparing all the woodwork before he starts painting. We knew his grandfather when we first moved here and hadn’t realised what a successful business man he had been, owning quite a property empire. He was a very pleasant helpful man who never talked about his successes.

I have some papers to read for a Teams meeting tomorrow. Usually I have 1 meeting a month but, given people being away,I ‘ve taken on additional work over August. Back to normal next month.

Hope today is a good one for all.
