Good morning all and the weather, for me, is perfect, cool and sunny.

My db and his wife came for coffee, cake and sherry yesterday morning. Dh didn’t say much but was quite friendly towards them. DS1 popped In to pick up DGD birthday present as she goes away today with her friends to Spain.

Today my oldnrighbour/good friend is picking me up to take me to their carpet shop to choose new carpets for two bedrooms, downstairs study and conservatory. They have owned their shop for over 50 years and the son and grandson now run it. Always been a bit pricey but good quality and good fitters.

I’ll get the bus back and hope my sore foot holds out.

A very restless night, due to excrutiating pain levels. I woke myself up, shouting out! I woke DH too! 😁

I did very little yesterday, apart from supervising DS2, who decided our garage needed tidied. It did 😉,
There was no Babydoll, because the real purpose of his visit was to borrow our multi position ladders.
I gifted them to him, that way, there is no way DH will be able to use them.😉
I am becoming quite smart.
It took a lot of shifting items to get to the ladders.
How many single pairs of gardening gloves do you need mum.? 😆
He has offered the services of DIL2. She works as project manager for the Museum Services (her dream job) and will have it sorted in no time, said DS.
I am too embarrassed to let her do it. It is like a nuclear bunker. I found seven bottles of laundry detergent! 😊

DS started rummaging about, then I realised, he was approaching the items, I was planning to put in a gardening gift box, for their Christmas: a sextant, a sundial, skittles, boules. I practically threw myself on them.
DIL, loves our garden and often jokes she will liberate those particular items from our garden, (assisted by Babydoll,) 😂
I have gradually been picking them up in the sales.
DS left with strawberry tarts, Babydoll's favourite) caramel tarts, crafting items for DIL and of course the ladders.
He said, just to call him DD from now on, because she always leaves with a stash of goodies.

I will go down to Mass today and tidy up after the weekend. Also, I have a repair job to do on the visiting seminarian's cassock, it needs a strip of velcro at the neck.

Llfl, I have a Ninja ice cream maker. My favourite ice cream is dulce de leche, made with a tin of Carnation Caramel.
Unfortunately, I haven't felt well enough to use it this summer. My friend Mr Lidl kept me going with mint chocolate ice lollies, they are addictive.
What flavours do you make?

Madeleine, I hope you are starting to improve, it was the painful itch and that feeling of tight, stretched skin, which drove me to distraction.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire. I think it’s to be a fine day.

I’m feeling unsettled as there are changes afoot and as well as that I’m worrying about a problem in the family.

Our priest is being moved to a larger parish as it’s thought his energy and skills will be put to good use, we are however going to have a permanent parish priest for the first time in several years.

Two of our charity shop managers have been dismissed for not following proper procedures and while I agree they were wrong I do feel that the outcome is disproportionate to the situation. I’m aware that I’m probably not in possession of all the facts bit it seems to have been handled very poorly and at least six volunteers have said they won’t return. I feel torn, part of me feels that perhaps I should resign in solidarity however the person who would be most affected by that is me as I do enjoy it and feel that I’m contributing something useful. A dilemma.

Anyhoo today I’m off to have all the peach fuzz removed from my face,, I hate all the hairs which sprout from my chin so I have this facial as a treat to myself every couple of months.

We will probably take the dog for a
long ish walk this afternoon to try to clear my head.

I'm viewing a house this evening for a second time with 2 friends. I have been trying to imagine living there!

I've been offered several places to stay so I won't be homeless if I can't find the right house to move into.

Today I shall glaze pots so they can be fired ready for our open studios and arts trail next week.

A busy time. I am glad you are able to relax again Ash but it must be very enjoyable being so involved with the theatre.

I laughed at stories for the boys' dinner. Grandmabatty. I presume it was stovies?

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Suffolk where it is supposed to get up to 20 degrees later but no rain forecast til at least Thursday.

The house painting continues which means we get up earlier that usual. We had a break on Friday and over the weekend and enjoyed later risings.

The ironing I planned to do last week is still there having grown over the last couple of days with bedding etc. I will do it today. It is not a job I enjoy and the bigger the pile grows the more I put it off. I know I should,as my mother used to do,have a set day for it. I think hers was Tuesday after wash day on Monday.

DH and I will be out for a walk with the little dog soon and the ironing will begin.

Hope others tackling jobs they don’t like finish them quickly and those who are unwell have a reasonable day.

Gagagran I have a pair of wood pigeons who more or less live in my garden. I call them Percy and Persephone. They love to bathe in the water, sometimes sitting in it just relaxing. One day early this summer Percy wandered into the kitchen. I was able to cover him with a light cotton scarf and gently lift him and take him outside.

It's my final shift at work today, starting at 8 and ending at 5, then I'll be back on the 1st of September!

I've online booked a room at the Premier Inn, Worcester, and will start out early in the morning for the 213 miles/4 hours drive.

I've already packed my suitcase, etc., so that will save me time later!

I'll drive to Malvern for Dr/ Roget and Miss Kate's graves on Thursday.

Last night I watched Goin' To Town, with Mae West and Paul Cavanagh, 1935. Mae was magnificent!

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks. Yesterday’s scrapbooking group was good fun. We had a new lady come and she said she thought we were all bonkersand please could she come again.😁 . DDs cats have been fed and gone off on their
adventures.
DH has golf and I’m meeting DD1 for a quick lunch in the cafe attached to where she works. A few errands to run and some household jobs plus a couple of Victoria sponges to bake.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny and dry again. 15 out heating up to a comfortable 21 later. I cleaned the bathroom yesterday and washed bedding and towels. Then went to DD2’s for a barbecue. She had prepared some very tasty salads, which unfortunately gave me dreadful indigestion in the night! Better this morning but I didn’t get a lot of sleep.
I have a pile of ironing to do and will continue to attack the large shrubs at the end of the garden today as it’s cooler.

llfl I hope your new ice cream machine arrives today and that you have fun making more delicious ice cream.

Good morning from Sheffield

I had a bad night last night, to be honest I think I had eaten too much. I did a full roast. I think it was the blackberry and apple crumble with clotted cream that tipped me over the edge.

I have an early appointment with the optician this morning. I have blocked meibomian glands on my lower lid. I have been trying to clear them on my own for a few months but it’s not been very successful. I shall see what she suggests.

I have the gorgeous cockapoo to take out when I get back and then working this afternoon.

Good Morning everyone from a cool but bright central south coast. No rain forecast before Thursday and that looks to be very light if any deigns to turn up.

I didn't realise I hadn't posted yesterday until evening, by which time I decided to leave it until this morning. Although we usually have a quiet Sunday, it turned out to be quite hectic with one thing and another so my desk was vacated for a long spell.

Percy, our friendly wood pigeon came for his usual bath time, once I had filled up the water feature. He has given us a lot of pleasure watching his enjoyment!

Nothing much planned for today other than a bit of ironing which I will do once my arms get less stiff and achey.

Quiet day yesterday, just reading and crosswords then watched some TV.
I watched The Voice from Saturday and then the final of The Piano.
Today will be another quiet one, just a little housework and do some research online regarding the festive season. DS and family are going to his in laws this year so it will just be DD, SIL and me.

I have a doctor’s appointment about my low BP late morning (although it seems fine since I started monitoring it twice a day) and a friend coming this afternoon for a cup of tea.
Macaroni cheese for dinner, thanks to M&S, strawberries and meringue with ice cream for pudding.
I’ve nearly finished the crewelwork piece, it’s turning out quite well so I’m pleased with it.
My big tomatoes are ripening, they’re whoppers! I’m not quite sure what to do with them yet 🤔

Good morning from a very breezy Torbay where the temperature is currently 16 rising to 20 later today.

After playing the piano for the early service at church, I enjoyed having a day at home with no pressure to be out in the evening after so many busy times with the play. In the afternoon, I rang an old friend who has Parkinson’s and is virtually housebound since his wife died last year. Nevertheless, he is as cheerful as ever and very accepting of his condition.

I hope this is the start of a good week for everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is cloudy but a pleasant day is forecast. I’m off to meet my cousin at RHS Bridgewater. It’s not one of my favourite gardens but it’s a useful meeting place. It will be a better day than yesterday which I spent cleaning for DS2. I don’t know how the house gets so filthy. It’s probably a combination of dust blown in as he lives on a very busy road and dust he carries in from the warehouse where he works. Not to mention the fact he doesn’t do enough himself! Ice cream machine!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It should be a balmy 23 today with no rain.

Our cleaner should be here this morning and I’ll do a Waitrose shop.

My new ice cream mix should be delivered today. Also the fabric I’ve ordered for the backing of my quilt. I showed the quilt to my daughter yesterday and she asked me if she could have it when it’s finished! Mmm,

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, a fine dry day ahead.

A pleasant afternoon yesterday spent with DS and family; was able to congratulate the DGDs on their excellent exam results. Two bottles.of fizz were opened and we also demolished a chocolate cake! DS also fixed my printer which had been showing as off-line.

Yoga first thing, and I don't have to catch the bus this morning as my friend has completed her childcare duties.
Home for lunch, then a visit to the podiatrist, hoping for nicely cut nails and smooth feet!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is clear and cool. 9 rising to 20 today, so comfortable. Apart from some laundry yesterday I didn’t do a lot, but, as my cold seemed to be well on the mend, I went for a walk and ventured into the reed bed which I don’t normally do on my own, but it makes the walk into a loop so more interesting. I’ve never seen the reeds so lush and high. It was difficult to see the path without moving them aside with my stick. It didn’t make for easy walking. I shalln’t go again until the reed warblers come back next Spring. I like to stand in the reeds and listen to them calling to one another. They have been breeding in there every year for some time now and just knowing that is, in itself, is a joy.

Not sure what's on the agenda today. Suck it and see!
