My lovely DGD age 12 has multiple disabilities.

She can not see beyond 6/8 inches, she has severe epilepsy, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties. Its getting worse not better as she gets older, the epileptic fits very 2 hours mean she is exhausted all the time (not to mention parents, 4 children) and so her learning disabilities get worse and willingness to move around (crawl). In Covid she had to be intubated for 4 days the worst days ~I can recall but it was precautionary as it turned out. But it made me feel, "take me, take me", its not right.

She is a happy soul and sings along to her favourite songs and carries around a yellow shark (protection?)

But today Dad and L set out on the train (she loves trains) to go to Great Ormund Street H to see if she can take part in a trial. this small and fairly safe brain operation would take away 90% of the epilepsy - and give her the chance to be less tired and more mobile and improved learning abilities.

Prayers, and warm thoughts most welcome.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers that your granddaughter will be accepted for the trial and that it has a successful outcome.
The poor girl must be exhausted, and, of course, all this will impact on the whole family, so sending best wishes to you all.

Everything crossed for your GD , Wyllow, in hopes that she will be accepted for this trial.

Wow! A seizure every 2 hours . I sincerely hope she is accepted for surgery and the medical trail.
I am not medically trained but qualified in learning disabilities. Having taught adults with learning difficulties I am well aware of the massive impact pronged and frequent seizures have on people.
She must be exhausted.
I sincerely hope todays appointment has gone well for her and offers some reassurance to your family.
My thoughts are with her and her family
and I hope you are able to keep us posted.
I send her, you and all who love her strength and prayers. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

Wyllow3 What a very anxious time for all the family. I don't pray, but I'll certainly think about your granddaughter and wish her all the very best. My nephew's girl (now 16) is severely disabled (Cerebral Palsy). I really hope your granddaughter will make a good recovery and do well.
